    Not Recommended

There are several incidents that need to be addressed: When we arrived at the hotel, the reservation stated "Double Room with Two Double Beds and Harbor View - High Floor," but we were given a single room with double beds. We chose this hotel because it was very close to the Robotics Competition venue. However, we had to walk around every day because the connecting door was closed due to other events. We should have booked Westin or Marriott instead, as they are located directly across from the competition venue and were also cheaper compared to Hyatt. The room service was terrible. The housekeeping staff saw that three of us were staying in the room but provided only two towels. Coffee/tea was not supplied unless specifically requested, and a lid for the cups was never provided. Other than these issues, everything else was fine.

Beautiful Classy Hotel. Understand the different views before upgrading.

Beautiful hotel, great location. Classy décor throughout. Everything - food, drinks, shopping, beach are walking distance. Staff is genuinely friendly. i give this hotel a big thumbs up, I love this place. Note - the hotel doesn't really face the beach. The even numbered rooms face the main drag, and the marina, with just a peak of the beach/ocean to the left. The odd numbered rooms look toward the city side (no road, maybe quieter?), and have a fuller view of the beach/ocean to the right. I regretted paying to upgrade to the Marina side per suggestion at check in, it was a nice view, but I could hear sirens on the main drag, and I really wanted to see the beach/ocean. The odd numbered rooms have a better view of the beach/ocean if that's important to you. Smaller numbers = closer to beach end of hotel.

Hyatt Long Beach-great place to stay pre or post cruise

Excellent choice for pre or post cruise stay in Long Beach; very nice rooms and nice staff - plenty of walk to restaurants, shopping, bars- easy walk to waterfront and piers, clean safe area-no cabs needed-appears to be nicest section of Long Beach in an otherwise very industrial looking area

    Nice location by shoreline parks

This was a two-night stay prior to a cruise leaving from the San Pedro, and for that purpose it worked well. The people at reception were friendly and efficient. The room was large, had a nice seating area and a useful workdesk area, and a large bathroom. It was quiet. There were a few places on the wall which needed some touchup paint, but overall the room was in good condition. Location was nice, with the Rainbow Lagoon park immediatel to the southeast and the Shoreline Aquatic park to the southwest, all within easy walking distance. Alamitos Beach is a bit further away, about 1500 m east, but still within a reasonable walking distance. Across the street to the west there is an area with several restaurants and some takeout places, if you don't want to eat in the hotel. Taxi to the cruise pier was about a 30-minute ride, and about $45, so quite convenient for people catching a cruise. The concierge can arrange a taxi, if needed, but there are usually one or two free ones waiting by the front entrance. I have one suggestion for the hotel, however: educate your front-desk staff about the Passport bus. They knew nothing about it. (Front desk people at the Marriot, two blocks north of your hotel, DID know about it). It's a free bus service offered by the city of Long Beach on Fridays to Sundays; there is a bus stop quite close to the Hyatt, and if a person is visiting the Queen Mary, as many people do, the Passport bus can take them right to the ship. It's a very convenient service for someone staying at this hotel So, for the hotel: please talk to people at the Long Beach Transit and Visitor Information Center, only four blocks north of your hotel, and get information from them on the Passport stop closest to your hotel, and the days and times the bus runs. You'd be helping out quite a few of your guests if you had that information easily available. Overall this was a good stay, and I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

5-Star Stay at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcomed and comfortable. Everyone I encountered—from the front desk to housekeeping—was professional, friendly, and incredibly attentive. What stood out most was the exceptional customer service. Whether I needed local recommendations, help with my luggage, or just had a quick question, the team was always ready to assist with a smile. It’s rare to find a hotel where the staff genuinely cares about your experience, but that’s exactly what I found here. The hotel itself was clean, modern, and ideally located with stunning views and easy access to downtown Long Beach attractions. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Kudos to the Hyatt Long Beach team for making my stay so enjoyable!
