    Nice hotel but seaweed and unusable beach is why we would not return

    The service is excellent and the rooms are nice with good air con. The food is a bit repetitive but if you’re not picky, there’s good choice. My main issue and is why we have asked to move is the seaweed. The adjacent beach is sludge, it really stinks and not usable and therefore the beach bars are closed and there couldn’t be any activities if you wanted to do any. The sea is brown and not what you come to the Caribbean coast for. We’ve been told it’s seaweed season and it gets worse every year due to chemicals they use in Brazil. It isn’t like this in all areas but riviera maya particularly is really disappointing. Tui are asking for another 5k to move us for the second week.. when we’ve already spent 10k on a Caribbean holiday with no beach. We’ve booked trips out for our remaining stay but will Be pursuing when home and I feel it is a duty to inform people of how bad it actually is. See pics.

    Staff great and made us feel like wanted guests

    Outstanding staff, Mohamed was a gent to everyone and made our stay even better. would come back as facilities, drinks and staff were the cherry on top of a brilliant stay

    The lifeguards are absolutely AMAZING at this place. My mum had a bad turn on the beach, passed out and was very poorly. The way Ruth and the other lifeguards looked after her was out of this world. Getting her oxygen, taking her temperature and blood pressure. Diagnosed the severe dehydration and got her to the medical staff here. 100% thankful for her great service. Thank you Ruth!

    We came here for dinner as we were staying g in the hotel next door. I just wanted to compliment our waiter Andres from The Dalia restaurant was superb. Attentive, enthusiastic and informative. A shining example of a committed team member. Thank you for looking after us so well, very much appreciated.
