    luxury vacation

    The rooms are lovely. The pool is great. The service is wonderful. The restaurants were good. The buffet was okay the food was often cold. The resort is large with many things to do for all ages. There was plenty of seating at the buffet and at the pool, which isn't always the case at all inclusive resorts. We came with a party of 16, all family members. They were very accommodating about seating us at tables close to each other. We were traveling with a wheelchair and two people with walkers and it wasn't a problem anywhere. The access is great we were even able to take the wheelchair down to the beach because there are paths almost all the way to the water. This was overall a great experience. This is a large resort with many things to do. We had 5 teens and there was always activities for them to enjoy in addition to the pool and the beach. I highly recommend this resort.

    A fantastic vacation

    This was our second stay at GP Riviera Maya and it beat all our expectations. For comparison we have traveled to ten resorts in the last five years and this was probably our best experience. We stayed at White Sands and got the VIP bracelet which allowed us to visit all the areas of the resort via Expedia/Orbitz. We traveled with a 19 month old and the service was excellent, always catering to our little one’s needs and being super understanding and helpful. By far the staff is what made the this stay very special. We specially enjoyed the concierge service (thank you Cielo and David!) that made our stay very comfortable. The FS pool staff was amazing (Leo, Maria, Estela, Lisbeth…) and they even helped us with a health scare with our little one. Food has definitely improved a lot versus last time we visited, we enjoyed every meal. We specially enjoyed the Mexican restaurant and their Yucatan region specialties. The staff at the White Sands lobby bar (Roger, Guendy, Freddy) were amazing and made us great pre-dinner cocktails every night. Fernando at Hacienda was amazing at lunch and Jose kept us well hydrated at the FS beach area. If we had to highlight any negatives it would probably be the beach, as it’s rockier than the one at other properties. The other thing that could be improved is access around the White Sands pool as those stairs can get pretty dangerous. We will definitely repeat and recommend the property.

    A great honeymoon!

    We had an amazing time at grand palladium colonial. It has been an amazing trip! I would recommend this hotel/resort to anybody who has never gone before. Do your research but also enjoy this one as a safe option! Expedia was an amazing resource for this! I am planning on coming back again exclamation. Point The service was amazing point.The bars were phenomenal! Always ask for what you want! Everyone was so kind and generous too!

    NOT 5 star hotel

    Beautiful grounds, Great customer service. BUT rooms were absolutely HORRIBLE. Furniture looked like it wasn’t changed in years, sheets were grey color, towels had stains everywhere, pillows so flat, you can’t even call it a pillow: lol. Food at the buffet was great, but they constantly ran out of it for breakfast. I mean completely ran out. No eggs, pancakes for kids, no fruits, NOTHING. Beach is very Rocky, bring water shoes. If you are looking for Five Star hotel, this is NOT the place

    Not up to pare of the other hotels in the resort

    We arrived to moldy smelling room and a broken door handle but had to eat so left and came back to strange bugs in the bedcovers and pillows. we were moved two doors down at 2am only to sleep in a room that was still moldy smelling. the resort is quite large and has old features so be careful on bridges and walkways. (tripping is a thing) and there aren't any jacuzzies!! Swim up pool was beautiful. Staff were always polite and helpful. buffet was average with expected comfort foods. I'm not interested in attending this place again. not my kind of experience and wasnt happy with the overall experience there.
