We booked a condo for our family at the Wyndham Ocean Walk Resort in Daytona Beach through VRBO and the property owner. Needed to cancel based on the global pandemic. Tried to work with property owner for either a credit for a future stay or a refund. Property owner very rude and uncooperative. Several attempts to work this out with VRBO as well proved unsuccessful. Despite the VRBO’s policy regarding the corona virus they allowed the property owner to keep $1,100.00 and deny us a voucher for a future stay. VRBO associates were rude as well and saw nothing wrong with the property owner keeping our money. How is this acceptable given the crisis in this country and in the world for that matter? The property owner went as far as to threaten us that not only will she keep our money she will charge us an additional amount to compensate her for lost revenue due to us cancelling our reservation. People are getting sick and dying everyday and there is no compassion from this company and this property owner.
Great location and Amenities
My family and I stay here over the Christmas break and it was phenomenal. To be able to wake up and look outside our balcony facing the beach on Christmas Eve was everything. We booked a two bedroom and the amenities kept my children entertained for our 10 day vacation. They had cookie decorating, gift wrapping parties, Christmas parties with the Grinch. It was so amazing. On Friday nights they have a cartoon artist who is able to sit down and draw you a cartoon figure of your family for a donation. They have an on-site cafe which is typically ok but just go down the street to Peach Valley Diner instead for awesome food! The business center was well equipped to assist with my work-from-home needs. This was a GREAT experience overall! We did have an issue with the cleanliness of the buildings. The South tower is typically the rental side and this was where we had our issues. However, after speaking with Melissa (front desk supervisor) she was able to accommodate our family. Great customer service! My kids can’t stop talking about this place! Totally recommend this place. We will definitely travel here again! Thank you again for a memorable Christmas vacation and experience!!
Fantastic view, awesome pool deck, spacious villa
We were booked on a cruise for our granddaughters’ spring break. When it was cancelled due to coronavirus, we decided to go to the beach. We reserved a one bedroom oceanfront villa @ Ocean Walk. We arrived shortly after noon and were able to go through the check in process, had lunch @ Johnny Rockets next door, then our room was available. Vast majority of reviews mention the pressure to take a tour or attend a meeting. I was ready. The agent was quite persistent, but I just made it clear to her that we were not interested. I was not bothered again. We were assigned #605 in the south tower. We were absolutely delighted with the amazing view! The sixth floor gave us a nice overall view, but low enough that we could enjoy the sounds of the waves. Our villa was quite spacious, lemon yellow walls were a little bright, but fresh. Our villa was fresh and clean with the exception of our balcony. The balcony was beyond filthy. It desperately needs to be pressure washed and painted. Balcony furniture seems to vary from one balcony to another. Ours was mismatched and aged, but still reasonably comfortable. We all used wet ones on our feet as we entered the villa from the balcony. The resort has two outdoor pools, a lazy river, a children’s splash pool and a slide. While making the reservation, we were NOT advised that the splash pool and one indoor pool was not open. Nobody bothered to bring this to our attention when we checked in either. The pools that were open were wonderful and our family enjoyed them very much. The hot tub was always full of 20-somethings, so we did not use it. Beach access was great. We had to go through a secure gate, down some steps, across a walkway and more steps. This is not a good fit for anyone with mobility challenges, but we were fine. During low tide, there is lots of sandy beach. During high tide, not too much beach available. Everyone enjoyed the waves and building sand castles. We reserved a room with a king bed, but were assigned two queens. It worked out great because nobody had to sleep in the livingroom. The bedroom “window” looks out into a hallway. I read this in reviews and didn’t quite get it, but that’s how it is. Our unit had a small kitchen, but with all the features needed. We did just sandwiches and basic meal prep. I loved having a washer / dryer in the unit, but every load took at least two cycles of the dryer. My husband cleaned lint out of it (believe vent needs work) and also fixed the toilet flush mechanism. We had fantastic weather, a wonderful view, amazing wave sounds and a beautiful sunrise. Then Ocean Walk closed all of the pools, so we checked out early and went home. We hope to return another time.
Great place, responsive staff!!
Had a nice 2 bedroom suite on the vacation club side with oceanfront view! Right on boardwalk where we did our daily walking! Great stores and restaurants nearby! We had a bad outlet and torn door frame which got fixed immediately. Just texted if we needed extra supplies-super setvice!! Went to St Augustine for a day-wonderful day trip!! Would definitely return.

If you love the ocean, an awesome pool and hot tub, great food and entertainment.This is the place to be! the staff and amenities are exceptional!!! All the local restaurants are within walking distance, with a Bubba Gump restaurant and just a loving stroll down the boardwalk or beach if you prefer to the wonderful Seafood restaurant on the pier and back to relax on the lounges! It was awesome!!! We would recommend the vacation to all. almost forgot all the fun at the daily craft shops.
