Great value for money
Stayed as this hotel for 2weeks. Had a newly refurbished room, lovely and modern. Housekeeping kept clean. Reception staff very helpful. Great location and most of all such great value for money along with Disney perks without having to pay Disney prices. Would definitely stay again.
This resort says , "NO Smoking in rooms" ! Hotel Management look the other way when guests smoke in their rooms. Are family had three rooms that were all together. My son and his family had to be moved to another room because the room next to his the people we're smoking in their room. The smoke was so bad we called hotel management and security. They looked the other way. I recommend , "DO NOT", make reservations at this resort.
Disney Bait and Switch
First - I can tell you as an Annual Passholder who frequents Disney several times a year, most times staying at an off-site hotel, I can say this particular location is NOT one that I would recommend to other passholders. At least not yet. Unfortunately, post-COVID and with WDW opening and many APs not able to get into the park reservation system, we resorted to a WDW hotel, many of the first choices of which were still closed. Upon entering the staff outside and at the check in were very pleasant. The lobby smelled great and was inviting and beautiful. We were told that the resort fee was cut in half due to the lack of availability of amenities, specifically the transportation to the parks. Parking alone at the parks is $25/day so that didn't seem a fair trade in that guests would have to pay that much for parking and still pay a resort fee. Especially since nowhere on their site do they describe their limited services thus, a guest is hoodwinked into staying at this hotel until it's too late to cancel. That wasn't the only unavailable amenity. There was no open game room. The pool was open but clearly not being monitored by the my passing by and seeing guests in the pool while it was lightening and storming outside. Nor were their any staff members enforcing the mask requirement within the common areas. They herded everyone into one parking lot that was a pretty long distance from the actual rooms. All of the rooms were outdoor, which was awful with the humidity, especially on those rainy days. The walkways were severely flooded and made more difficult by the barriers put up around barrels of some toxic substance, broken ice machines and non-working elevators. The room itself was pleasant. Nice shiplap on the walls and tastefully decorated. The room was spacious but the bathroom and vanity were small. The beds weren't particularly comfortable. The TV was huge and the wi-fi worked fine. Now the kicker...there was NO, I mean NONE, housekeeping. They didn't tell you this either until you checked in. Once again, a guest cannot cancel without penalty by the time you find this out. They leave you plastic bags in the room and ask you to dispose of your towels outside the door. They don't even bring you new towels. You have to hoof it all the way back to the far away lobby to get new towels. And clearly they don't check your toiletries when the do actually send in housekeeping as mine were half full. Overall, I got the benefit of being able to make a Disney reservation however, it was NOT worth the price and they absolutely should not be charging a "resort fee" for the few things they have that equate to free at a Motel 6 and parking was a joke, limited and cramped only to have one force to pay parking again at the park since they offered no transportation. I believe if the hotel is honest about the limited amenities, no housekeeping and eliminates the parking and "resort fee" until such time as they are offering full amenities, I would find this more reasonable. Otherwise, take your chances elsewhere.
Average stay with some disappointments. Great location.
Disclaimer, we stayed during Covid so were perfectly understanding to not having shops, bars, daily housekeeping, restaurants functioning. We're frequent Disney guests on property, we ended up here in multiple rooms for three nights. I had stayed one night several years ago, the room updates are very nice and made for a pleasant stay while in the room. The larger TVs, USB ports, etc made the interiors seem upgraded. Our door lock stopped working the first day of three. Replaced cards twice then the front desk said it was probably from moisture in the lock but someone wouldn't be in until later to work on it. We had a second room for our party so they said to just use that until someone came. Same time next day we complained again because we paid for 2 rooms for privacy, cutting in and out of the 2nd room was ridiculous. Maintenance guy showed up and looked at it, said he was going to find parts then never came back. Ever. Spent another 24 hours unable to use our door which was just unacceptable. Front desk said there was no other rooms to move us to so just issued more keys to the other room. No housekeeping which was fine with Covid, we were able to pick up giant trash bags at the front...we set them outside for pickup but they ended up just being piled in the elevator area on our floor (5th) where they remained untouched for 2 days. The rooms are non smoking but several parties stood in the walkways outside their doors smoking. One of our neighbors complained multiple times but said nothing was done. It was uncomfortable having to go through it in order to get to our room daily. Only one elevator was working so you couldn't go up on other end of the building. I was impressed by the quality toiletries - all cruelty free which was a welcome surprise! Thank you! The location is perfect if you want to be close to Disney Springs but not be on Disney property. I hope management gets the issues together because this could and should be a great property. Honestly, the interior of the rooms here are nicer than than some of the Disney moderates but if this had been a normal trip with options we would have relocated. Side note after seeing TripAdvisor questions...I don't know if staff were required to wear masks but the majority we interacted with were not or they were lowered on their face. We wore in all the common areas but the majority of other guests were not.
Great stay !!!
On June 3 my wife and I wanted to Have a night away for our anniversary. We knew we wouldn’t have a car so we decided on the Wyndham garden at Lake Buena Vista. The hotel was clean, affordable, and accommodating. Sandra at the front desk went above and beyond and made us feel right at home. Thanks again for all your help. I will definitely stay at the location again.
