Ignore the moaners
To begin, I would like to remind people that just because 1 person has a bad experience, it doesn't mean that you will! If we had taken notice of some of the reviews, we would not have enjoyed the great stay that we have just had. Sometimes you compromise on certain things in order to benefit from others. The location of this hotel is fantastic, we found the reception staff extremely friendly, helpful and enjoyed a laugh and a joke with them. All staff members that we came across were friendly and polite. If we had a minor criticism, it would be the food options at fuel could be a little more extensive but that is a minor detail. Our room was ideal, cleaned each day , the pool was more than adequate and the pool area clean and tidy. We will definitely be booking to stay here again.

Convenience and Options for families is what separates this hotel from others
My family and I who are annual passholders just returned back from our trip to Disney for the last 5 nights. This would be the second time we stayed at the Dolphin and Swan after taking 10+ trips staying over in the Bonnet Creek area on Disney's property as well. As someone who has 2 young children I would highly recommend staying at the Dolphin if you're going to be doing multiple Disney visits over multiple days. The reason I recommend this is that you can't beat the same conveniences that you get from Disney branded hotels including the boat service directly to both Hollywood Studios & Epcot and the access to the Boardwalk hotel bus service next door that allows you to skip the monorail/ferry at Magic Kingdom. The other reasons I think the Dolphin is a fantastic hotel is that you have so many options for dining and entertainment which is really what you want after long days in the park. Both hotels have really strong restaurant options if you are looking for a sitdown dinner with quality food. We ate at Il Mulino, Rosa Mexicano, and Shula's steakhouse and all three were really good. The Dolphin/Swan have tried to upgrade the aesthetics of the older clay flooring with more modern amenities so at some places the hotel looks a little mismatched but it still is a massive resort that makes you feel like you are on vacation. The Fuel counter service spot downstairs is large enough to keep the masses moving and they have the online ordering which allowed us to never wait in the AM for breakfast options including coffee/food. There are a few things about the hotel that are not my favorite for a resort style hotel that you spend multiple nights at but they really aren't areas they can do much about at this point. The bathrooms are small and because they are small it can feel tight when you are trying to get a family of four ready but they do have the sinks outside the shower/toilet area so you at least have a few spots to get ready. The other thing is that when you get two beds they are not two queens - they are two doubles which are not the most comfortable with two kids and two adults. The only other thing that was a little frustrating was that housekeeping every single morning started knocking around 8:40am and while I know you can place a Do Not Disturb door tag we never had one in the room so every morning we just kept getting housekeeping at the door very early for a reservation that was not checking out that day. As someone who travels alot for business I expect that at a business hotel or a hotel packed with conferences - not a resort midweek. All in all the staff and the property are really nice and you have more than enough while not paying the ultra premium prices of the Disney resorts nearby like Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach club, and Coronado Springs. We will definitely be back and recommend this hotel for anyone who will be going to Disney.

Terribly Expensive
I stayed at the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel for a conference and spent 4 nights. If you are considering taking your family to this location for a fun filled trip to Disney, don't! Disney itself costs enough! This hotel will cost you an arm and leg. There are resort fees and fees to park and everything at this hotel is outrageous in price. I purchased a roast beef sandwich, small bag of chips and a small drink and it was 35 dollars. Don't even mention dinner! Dinner is astronomical in price. We drove into Orlando for dinner each night. The hotel is nice and clean and the beds are comfy, but I don't feel that it is worth what I paid even with a conference rate!

It was “OK” that’s all nothing great
This is a older hotel . We got upgraded to a suite because of our Marriott status , but suite is old but big . So major problems w this place .. nothing opens for a good meal till 5nand then it’s limited to opening the good restaurants. We were looking forward to Todd English’s Blue zoo .. nope closed on a wed and thurs WTH . Check in was a long process too , lots of walking ! Pretty much you on your own to find places ..it’s a big place too. I really researched the 3 swans , we ended up w the dolphin because of the comp upgrade . The Swan sister hotel the Reseve looks very very nice and NEW across the street we should gone w that hotel . And the pools are AVERAGE at best . We will not be back or recommend.

Worst Stay at a Great Hotel
I’ve stayed at the Swan and Dolphin at least 8 times and I’m very fond of the hotel. Unfortunately this stay fell very short of my expectations. We used two rooms for 4 people. 1. Found no soap in the soap dispenser the first morning, and no lock on the bathroom door. 2. Housekeeping failed to clean one of the two rooms inexplicably. 3. The lobby fountain was blocked by a black barricade and the statues were being stripped with power tools making noise and dust. We traditionally took a picture at that fountain, but not this year. 4. The outside fountains were not running. 5. The front of the hotel was under construction the entire stay with trees being ripped out, and a power lift making a beeping and loud engine sound all day. 6. At 7:15 AM sharp every morning, a landscaper ran a leaf blower until 8:30. So one hour and 15 minutes of a gas leaf blower outside my room every morning. Did they ever consider a lithium leaf blower or a broom for early morning cleanup?? 7. The Fountain restaurant went from having a nice menu to 5 overpriced items. A significant drop in quality and food service. $11 for a small cup of ice cream with sprinkles - and we’re talking a tiny amount. 8. The monitor that tells you when Disney bus service will arrive was dead. Just a poor stay. Hopefully they get their act together again. I know hotels need to do maintenance but why during the busiest tourist time of the year? I’m sure tourism drops significantly in September.
