LOVED the Dolphin!
My family just returned from a 7 night stay at the Dolphin. I was SO nervous after reading all the negative reviews here, and I'm so glad I ignored them. After staying at many Disney properties over the years, this is our new favorite. To be within walking distance to two parks, but UNDER the price of a moderate resort can't be beat! The property is gorgeous, the views are incredible (yes, you do have to pay for them, but it's so worth it!), and the staff is amazing. We had to ride out Hurricane Ian at the Dolphin, and I can't say enough about the staff. We were safe and well-cared for every single moment. I can't imagine what the staff was going through themselves with worry about their homes and families, and even in the midst of that, they were incredible. We had daily housekeeping, and our room was spotless! I'm a stickler for cleanliness at hotels, and as I said, the reviews had me worried, but the resort was super clean. The very moment the hurricane winds died down, there was a crew outside doing clean-up. There are many dining options on property, but we loved Fuel especially. We are hard-core park goers, so being able to grab something on our way out the door or to enjoy the Froyo bar during a break (they have a Dole Whip option!!) was awesome. As far as being out of the "Disney bubble," we honestly didn't even notice. When you can look out your window and see The Boardwalk, or the Friendship boats making their way towards Epcot or Hollywood Studios, it doesn't get more "Disney bubble" than that. The only downside (though I knew this going in, so I definitely didn't count it against the hotel) is the bed situation. We're a family of five, and while the rollaway technically did give us sleeping room for five, the double beds made for a tight squeeze for sure. Again, we knew it going in, and for us, the value of the location for the price FAR outweighed having to sleep in smaller beds than we're used to. We visit Disney often, and we have a new favorite place to stay! Can't wait to get back to the Dolphin ASAP!
Dolphin Hotel has AWFUL service
Just returned from a 2 week vacation at the Dolphin and would advise you to avoid it at all costs. It is nothing like the pictures and the service is among the worst I have experienced. When we tried to resolve the continual problems, we were met with a dismissive and uncaring attitude. At one point we were locked out of our room, due to a mistake that they made, and when we went to resolve it we were told that were lying and made to feel like criminals - made to be escorted by security. Also this is primarily a conference hotel. When we arrived there was a 2000+ person conference happening and so the hotel was filled and the lobby was wall to wall people. We had to shout to each other to be heard over the din. Guests who were not part of the conference were ignored and could not do anything in the hotel - we had to fight through the crowds to get to the room and could not eat anywhere. I have traveled to over 60 countries in the world and this is one of the worst experiences I have had.

Awesome hotel,everything was perfect, walk to Epcot is nice and close. Room was great. Shula steak house inside the hotel was delicious. Check in was quick and easy. Service was #1 right from the get go. Will definitely go back.
Having stayed in both Disney hotels within the parks as well as others nearby the parks, I now always opt for the Disney locations. I find the perks to be a big advantage. The rooms are adequate, the grounds are nicely landscaped, and both are well maintained. Service is helpful though a bit distracted. You can walk to Epcot (talk about location) or take the boat. In addition to the Disney perks, you can often find reasonable rates or deals for this property which is good for the wallet. I would stay again.

Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort by Marriott Horrible experience (1 out of 10) No STARS! I'm staying for 3 nights at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort by Marriott and at every touch point, my experience has been awful. I should have stayed at the Waldorf if I had known that the employees here were rude, unprofessional, and poorly trained. I think the main issue comes from the general manager because there is no way this many employees are as bad as it is. The communication between valet and baggage bell services is non-existent. My bags stayed outside for 45 minutes, and when my bags were finally picked up by the baggage bell service, they never delivered my bags – they lost them! I had to actually spend 30 minutes going from station to station to find out where my bags were. I took them to the room myself. The check-in employees did not smile, were very rude, and would not explore options for room location or upgrades (even though we were Gold). Upon entering the room, little kids and babies were screaming next door, so we decided to immediately leave the room and request a room change. The older gentleman at the concierge actually said we cannot just willy-nilly change rooms, especially due to noise, and the process is to call security twice to get the neighbors to reduce their noise level before considering a room change. What? Are you out of your mind? I am not going to involve security to make babies and little kids be quiet—not possible. The response and attitude immediately caused me to ask for my money back and suggest we go to the Waldorf (I wish we did). The concierge abruptly left to speak with a manager, then returned and stated that the manager would make a one-time exception to move rooms but could not guarantee the new room would be noise-free. No kidding! I know there is never a guarantee, but the fact is the 1st response should have been "Sir, let me see what we can do even though we are sold out." If all of this wasn’t bad enough, upon entering the new room, we walked in on an occupied room! Unbelievable! When we tried a different employee to help us, the lady at the desk not only refused to smile but actually raised her eyebrow in an accusatory attitude that it was not possible to be given an occupied room. Of course, she had to walk back to talk with a manager and was finally provided with a new room. Every time we try calling someone for service, the line is either busy or can’t get through. It has only been one night out of three, and I cringe every time I consider calling for an extra sheet or blanket, bringing my car around, or ordering room service. Supposedly, this hotel specializes in full-capacity management, and when I stayed here 4 years ago, it was very good. Now, this hotel has gone downhill so far that the situation is sad and comical at the same time. It doesn't matter whether the hotel is at capacity during summertime surges or during a hurricane, the management should know how to manage a capacity crowd-or don't sell your rooms if you cannot handle it. The words that come to mind for this hotel are confusion, inexperience, rudeness, uncommunicativeness, and scam. We have 2 more long nights ahead of us and am regretting my decision.
