Great Choice for Disney World
This was my second or third time staying at the Dolphin. I got an excellent rate -- it's a much better value than the other hotels nearby. It's not totally Disney (I think it's owned by Marriot), but I don't think you give up many amenities by staying here. We were only here for one night before moving to Old Key West, so I'm really not sure about that. You can walk to Epcot and Disney Studios and catch buses to the other two parks, and you can catch the new Skyliner at Epcot. It definitely feel like you are staying in Disney World. The hotel is attractively decorated and feels "Disney." We were on the 10th floor and had terrific views of Disney World. We had a car, so we did not take the buses. We drove to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, and there wasn't much traffic, as capacity was limited due to Covid. I would definitely stay here again, especially if the rates continue to be favorable relative to the true Disney hotels.
First time staying here and I was so impressed! It’s really a beautiful hotel and priced right considering it is walking distance to Epcot, the Boardwalk, and yacht and beach club. The pool area is awesome and I loved the sandy beach area with views of Epcot. Even though it is not owned by Disney, you still feel like you are staying at a Disney hotel. All the staff I encountered were very helpful and kind. I was able to upgrade to a pool/fireworks view room with two balconies ($40 extra per night). Room 7169. The room was clean and the view was amazing, although it was quite a long walk from the elevators to the room. It was noisy most of the day since it overlooks the pool area, but it quieted down at a reasonable hour. A couple criticisms; neither of the locks on the balcony doors worked. On the 7th floor it probably doesn’t pose any threat but still, they should work. Also, the shower doesn’t have a ledge or any shelves, making it super difficult to shave your legs. Lastly, the carpets in the hallways are really due to be replaced as they are extremely worn down. But overall I was so pleased with this hotel and will stay again!
Located in a Convenient Spot for Epcot and Hollywood Studios
The Dolphin is located in such a convenient location for going to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. They have friendship boats that will transport you to those parks and the boats come in a timely manner so we never had to really wait long even after exiting the parks at night. The Swan is also connected through the back door of the Dolphin. There were many restaurants on the premises as well. The only downside was that the rooms had twin size beds instead of queens .
Next to Epcot and Hollywood studio
Although it is located very close to Epcot and Disney Hollywood studio and yes Walt Disney in its name, the hotel is actually operated by Marriott. One difference is that it had its own shuttle instead of Disney shuttle. That makes a big difference at magic kingdom that Disney bus is right outside the park entrance, we have to take Disney monorail to the transportation center to take their bus. And it may take up to 45 minutes. very convent if u are going to Epcot or Hollywood Studio, u can either walk or take the boat ride.
Great Stay! Met All Expectations
My wife and I decided to take a last minute trip to Orlando to get out of the awful NY Memorial Day weather. Left the kids at home and had a great time at The Dolphin. Here are the pros and cons. Pros--you simply can't beat the location. You can walk both to Epcot and HS and the Boardwalk is right there. Very nice people at check in and the lobby was very cool. Restaurants are amazing(Bluezoo especially) as was Fuel the quick grab and go place. Pools were great and bartenders there were top notch. The rooms were good, pretty standard, but the bed was incredible. Something else I liked was you could QR code the tv so that your phone was the remote. With Covid, I appreciated that. The grounds were very pretty and immaculate. A few small cons. First The Grotto pool was alwasy too crowded and not enough seating. We used the pool next to it and the one at the Swan so it all totally worked out. If you are a family staying there, there isn't much of a Disney theme. If that matters to you(it didn't to me) you may want to find another place. Also, no lifeguards at the pool. Again, doesn't matter to me but if you feel better that they are there, keep in mind, they aren't. Although I was well aware of the add on fees, it is something you want to keep in mind. Still, for what I paid, all in, I am uber happy, People usually say the Swan and Dolphin is like a deluxe with moderate prices. I would say it is a step down from a Yacht Beach/Grand Floridian but completely blows away any Disney Moderate and Value. Not even close. I would stay here again.
