The Real Deal Says, They go the extra mile

Travel is difficult in normal times. During covid it got to be a real pain. 2 types of companies have decided to show up - those that blame everything on covid and hotels that make it work. We upgraded to a corner suite facing the water and this Room is worth whatever point or $s you need to spend. It is fantastic view of the Lake the boats that pull in the sailboats and the beach. The Sun sets perfectly for enhancing the colors of the view you can watch people water skiing jet skiing whatever just relax it is a perfect two rooms and extremely quiet with the double pane glass. Someone mention that it was a bit off the beaten path but we found it to be extremely well located the walk felt great in the morning to get out to miracle mile or over to millennia park or to the museum's. The restaurant near it range from a place that specializes and eggs all the way up to the purple pig just 5 blocks away. The people just made it work. If there was a need for something they figured it out. The bar is open on the weekends only that is little bit of a problem but there's a nice store down the road you caCDn get a great bottle of wine some bread some cheese and picnic in the Room if you need to. Enjoyed all the people that we met in the hotel and they made it easy along with a great property - will be back

Great Navy Pier and lakefront views

Bring comfortable walking shoes easy to access Navy Pier and other restaurants, there is a 7 Eleven near for drinks and snacks. We were given a lakefront view in an accessible room but not sure how it was a handicap room as it was all the way down the hall from the elevator and pretty narrow walk way in the room and the bathroom had a tub but the handicap bars. The room was fine, bathroom a good size but no extra toliet paper and when I called down for more they never came. Beware of the garage next store that was probably built years ago when cars were a smaller size. We have a good size pick up truck and talk about tight, the driver had to get out the passenger side it was such a tight squeeze. Although this is the closet parking garage I would park elsewhere, not to mention I had issues on the app that I reserve the parking with. The front desk, bartenders and all employees we encountered were friendly and good customer service.

    Not what I expected

This weekend I stayed at W Chicago 644 N Lakeshore drive. An absolute IDEAL location to stay for all your favorite places you’d want to visit while downtown Chicago. Staff is super nice. Check in was a breeze with Steven he was super nice. They’d just opened back up to the public so he was a little rusty on certain questions I had but other than that he was great. Lobby is really nice and modern. Hallways and elevators are not air conditioned. My room was a bit smaller than I expected. Shower makes a weird sound when you first turn it on as if plumbing needs work, toilets need attention, our toilet seat had ugly permanent stains on them. The entrance to the room is super tight I struggled getting in the door with my luggage, as well as getting food from room service who also understandably refused to enter the room to roll in my food I’m assuming due to covid, so I had to lift and carry my own trays of food, but no biggie. Beds appear comfy but after the second night of sleeping on them my lower back was in pain. There were no face towels I had to request towels and tissue. I requested a fridge and microwave those were provided with no problem. Our first night sleep was okay, the next morning there was a roach on the wall by our door entry inside of our room. I called the front desk, Sarah the director of operations was really accommodating and helpful. She moved us to another room right away with a better view with no additional costs and even provided us with complimentary breakfast. Breakfast was pretty good. I had potatoes, toast, eggs with cheddar, bacon and coffee. Coffee was not the greatest. Their pool is closed due to covid and so is the gym. Overall my stay was okay. Not what I expected with it being such a Popular hotel. I was just hoping for a much better experience. The best part was being so close to Navy Pier, Ohio street Beach, and Fulton Market area.

    Our go-to hotel in Chicago!

This is my favorite hotel for several reasons: great views of Lake Michigan (even numbered rooms), friendly, professional & accommodating staff, access to the Lake Shore Drive bike and walking paths and House music upon entry (yeah, Chicago!). COVID: hotel has extra precautions in place - hand sanitizer, removal of several room items that are normally provided (but available on request), no valet. PARKING There is a sign as you drive into the carport that advises self-parking at the garage (address provided on the sign). If you have anything larger than a compact car, DON’T park there! I have never tried to park in a tighter garage than this & I park in NYC all the time. I drive a BMW 550i if that helps approximate size. Use the Erie Ontario garage at 321 E. Erie Street. No in & out service but it’s only $5/day more than that box you’ll try to shoehorn yourself into w/out busting up your car or others’. FOOD Decent selection & room service is available. BED Comfy with 4 pillows. Yum. NOISE Good job soundproofing the rooms, being right next to busy LSD. The higher the floor the better. I was on the 28th floor next to the elevators. Recommend putting a little more distance between your room & the elevators. Great stay as always. Just what I needed!

Great view, cool hotel decor, delicious food!

We had a great stay at the W Hotel in Chicago! Beds were comfy, decor was fun and inviting, bar was cool. We loved the breakfast and our view was awesome. Parking was expensive but valet was polite and convenient. Hotel is walking distance to many places and we enjoyed our stay!
