    Great!

What a fantastic stay we had at dockside!! Hotel is nicer than some ‘5 stars’ I have stayed in. Very clean, smells fresh, looks modern. Daily housekeeping. Checked in and out with ease. Food at hotel always great and reasonable price. Restaurant open until late to accommodate coming back from parks late. Starbucks onsite. Pool great. Honestly cannot pick fault with this hotel.

Good stay in the 2-Bedroom suite at Dockside!

Really liked the 2 bedroom suite option at Dockside Inn & Suites. Ample space for 4 of us, and nice to have the sink area separate from the shower/toilet area. Cute eating area in the suite, also. Pool was good, but limited seats in the shade. Restaurant was not very good, but handy in a pinch. Great to have a Starbuck's in the lobby, though! Shuttle service was readily available to/from the parks. Would stay again.

    Lovely stay!

We were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed our stay here and the conveniences of staying in Universal lodging. The shuttle buses were frequent and efficient. Our room was spotless. The AC worked great. Other than some happy kids walking by our room, we were never disturbed by any noise from our neighbors. We invested in the refillable resort mug on the first day and did not regret it. As spread out as the hotel was, parking was conveniently located no matter where your room would be stationed. I never like paying for parking but I get it. I think our parking was a total of around $230 for 5 days. The pool area was nice and clean with life guards on duty. We did not use it but there is a poolside bar. Pool towel were readily available so I wouldn't use your own unless you just wanted to. The deepest area of the pool was around 4 feet. I could not believe how fast the elevators were. The small pizzas in the cafe were great at $10 each. My ONLY complaint is that the mattress on my side of the room was sunken on the side next to the night stand. I know everyone, just like I did, sits in that one spot like its a chair. I don't know if the mattress just hadn't been turned or what. My daughter did not have that complaint with her bed. We truly enjoyed our time here and if you are wondering if you should stay in a Universal hotel, the answer is yes. The benefits outweigh staying outside the park. Sidenote, my daughter has stayed at both Universal's and Disney's economically friendly family hotels and was most impressed in all areas with Universal over Disney from everything to housekeeping to room size. There is an Ihop and Walgreens within walking distance. Disney Springs was about a 15 minute drive with traffic. Discovery Cove was about 20 minutes away. There is a Starbucks in the lobby open from 6a-10p.

    Absolutely awful….

Stayed here with my son for 1 week and can honestly say our holiday was ruined because of the noise level in this hotel. A week in Orlando with my son, a trip booked for his birthday and as can be imagined we wanted to squeeze in as much as possible in that week. Spent a fortune on park tickets for the Universal parks and the Disney parks only to feel so tired due to lack of sleep that we had to cut short our days out. When booked I this holiday I wasn’t at any time informed that the room we would be staying in would be interconnecting. Reception never advised this either on check in. The first few nights were bearable but we were disturbed due to noise it was the latter part of the week that were horrendous. A couple obviously checked in to the room next door….and only a door separated our room from theirs which when clearly they felt the need to be excessively noisy. Within 24 hours if we weren’t disturbed at midnight with the female singing in the shower, playing music and the sexual interactions and exhibitionist vocal accompaniment that went with it that my son and I were subjected to multiple times. I had complained to reception and requested a room move as it was quite disturbing for both my son and myself however the hotel advised if it happens again I was to call down to reception and they would send security to the neighbours room. So, when it all started again, I tried to call down to reception but the phone wasn’t working so I went back down to reception to express how uncomfortable the whole situation was, by this time I was told the hotel was full and nothing could be done. I felt so upset that we had to endure yet another night of screaming from the girl next door. The following day they advised I could move rooms however this meant checking out then back in at a later time, inconvenience for us yet again. I asked for them to ensure we had a room that didn’t have interconnecting doors however they claimed when we rechecked in that that was the only room they could give me. This holiday was meant to be special and instead it was completely ruined. The staff in the hotel were rude, the only ones pleasant were the housekeeping team. Very rude and dismissive and demonstrated no empathy or understanding when dealing with my complaints. I have nothing positive to say about this hotel. The food they offer in the “restaurant” is overpriced and to be quite frank disgusting. I purchased mouldy fruit, we tried room service pizzas which were cold and venturing into the restaurant on itself was just a free for all. Didn’t look clean and the staff not helpful at all. Actually felt like we were an “inconvenience “ to the staff across the hotel throughout our stay. I would never stay here and would never recommend this place to anyone. Unfortunately I was never informed that this was a “budget” universal hotel. I never paid “budget prices” but would happily have paid more to be in a better hotel than this. Only benefit that I would say is the early access to the parks. Do not stay here unless you can survive full days at the parks on 3-4 hours sleep per night!
