    Solid Universal Hotel

I stayed here for one day and here is my impression we tried to get an early check in and was told to wait. I never had any problem on value resorts so we couldn’t check in until after our parks day. The hotel is clean and modern if you are not into technology, this may be a negative for you since a lot of Room works off of an iPad. Overall, the rooms are not too big but comfortable for two. The rooftop bar is awesome. We had breakfast at the pantry. The problem is that you can’t read the menu pricing it’s very light so until you walk up to the counter, the pricing is competitive, but I like that they make the food to Order Overall this is a solid hotel for young professionals and older people. I would not recommend it for a family with children as the theme is very modern and geared towards an adult.

    Yarelys is awesome!

I usually do not write reviews. But I had to write to say how amazing Yarelys at the front desk is. She was so nice and helpful every single day. If we ever had a situation, she fixed it ASAP. And not very many people remember your name anymore, so I was very impressed. She made a good hotel a great hotel! Carlos Flores

I really love this hotel, esp at price point

I really love this hotel. Correctly folks note that it doesn’t have its own “theming” per se but how abt it’s a great location, comfortable and in places really lovely. I needed a suite for the family and selected this hotel over bedding options at nearby C Bay and S Falls. We visited both hotels and they are also nice BUT I really loved this hotel. Its more compact frame creates a little of an oasis really. You will walk plenty on your trip. You can use other pools but for a bar and a dip this one is also lovely. Not really kids pool. The lobby food is far better than I expected. Not cheap but you’re on property and the chicken I had and the breakfast with the kids was very good. And the service was better. It was a little slow. But the staff went out of their way to accommodate requests! This was a great staff! Really impressive. And you may say the theme is sleek and future but not original BUT how abt the views! Loved seeing the theme park. Kids woke up and pointed out all the rides. If you’re a walker the walk to the parks is pretty until you get to the very last part. I would 1000% stay here again. I feel like this was above my expectations and solid value. I really liked it and I travel all over try world and have seen every price point at Disney. Downsides? Not many. I had an issue where my room rate was wrong but they corrected. The Loews staff is very professional. It’s a well run hotel. Getting to Cabana Bay should be easier. It’s right there. Have a cross walk on a not that busy street imo. Everyone crosses there so it’s not that safe without one. And the access to other hotel pools is a great feature but there has to be a more efficient way to get passes. Also the food on 17 closed at 9:30? Seems like there is money to be made for guests coming back to hotel after parks. Stay open later. I will back!

    Great Universal base

We stayed at Aventura hotel for our second week in Florida. We were in a standard room for 2 adults and one child. The room was adequately sized for us and our luggage. The bathroom had a large shower and toilet and the sink was in the bedroom area behind a screen. We ate in the hotel a few times. There was a good selection of food available in the food court but we opted for Starbucks most mornings as it was quick and easy. We enjoyed a swim in the pool most days after our time in the parks. The lifeguards were the most attentive I’ve ever seen at a hotel! We used the boat at Sapphire Falls to get to the Universal theme parks as found it quicker and a nicer journey than the buses. Although handy to be able to get a bus back when the boats aren’t running in bad weather. My son loved the hotel robot and we ordered food to the room a couple of times hoping the robot would bring it but it didn’t. The iPad in the room was great for accessing reception services. We also streamed movies to the TV in the evenings which was good. We didn’t eat at the rooftop bar but we did use it to watch a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral and there was a great view. We were there for the Boeing starliner launch and we went up to the roof but it was closed! So we had to watch from the car park roof instead. The hotel was conveniently located for the parks and International Drive shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay at Aventura hotel. Would definitely stay again if we came back to Universal.

Great hotel, but USD cost to CDN for food/parking is crazy high!

Booked this hotel through Universal website direct and I was not disappointed. I am giving them a 5 star based on what we paid versus the overall experience. Since we got such a great price (versus what is listed), I was completely satisfied. Clean, bright, and beautiful rooms with enough storage for the week were there. Was able to keep the room fresh looking. Attendants and all personnel were spot on. Knowledgeable, quick, friendly and efficient. My only complaint is that, as a Canadian, I found the onsite costs for parking (insane), coffee and food (outrageous), and drinks were not good. Offerings were either very, very expensive with the exchange rate, or unattainable. They charge $32 USD per night for parking which is about $48CDN. That is RIDICULOUS. To Canadians I would recommend this hotel, but go to Costco before going there and get some groceries beforehand, otherwise your daily costs will exceed the actual cost of the hotel room itself. Super convenient, right next door you can catch the water taxi to Universal, or any other hotel. Loved this.
