A Great Time at Trop!
I had an amazing time when I stayed. Although I did have one issue with my room It was handled with care by Shavone, I think that's the spelling of her name. She changed my room and was very understanding with me. I would definitely go again. Happy Holidays

Solid Overall, But Avoid the Chelsea Tower
The Tropicana was my go-to Atlantic City spot when I was younger, and it still has plenty of upside. Lively atmosphere, good restaurant and bar selection, and just generally a fun time. The gym (Tilton Fitness) is also one of the best hotel gyms on the planet. The main downside, of course, is location. You're on the boardwalk but isolated from everywhere else. It's a hike even to get to the closest fellow casinos in Caesars and Bally's. Pretty much unwalkable to Hard Rock, Resorts, Ocean, etc. However, there was also a unique downside to my most recent trip: the Chelsea Tower. I ended up here on a comped stay, and I still feel like I overpaid. The setup was just poor - and really has no business being part of an otherwise nice hotel: * Location: It's not necessarily a far walk distance-wise for a casino-style resort, but the location is still really annoying. It's part of a completely separate tower, so you have to take an elevator to one floor, walk across a sky bridge, and then take another elevator to your room. * Dated Room: I wouldn't call it "dirty" or anything, but it just didn't have that new/fresh feel you'd want from a nice hotel room. Also didn't fit the vibe of the Trop at all. * Uncomfortable beds: Bouncy beds can be fun in certain situations obviously, but this was bouncy to a fault - leading to a fairly uncomfortable sleep. * Obnoxiously loud AC: Probably the biggest flaw - the AC/heater is aggressively loud, so you absolutely cannot have it on while you're sleeping. Kind of tough if you're staying in the winter (when you want heat) or summer (when you want AC) * Thin walls: Heard everything in the hallway and in the adjacent rooms. * Non-stop toilet: Not sure if this was just my room or common to the whole tower, but the toilet never stopped running - so you had to keep the bathroom door closed to avoid the distraction.

Bad staff response to an issue
We stayed at the Tropicana over Thanksgiving weekend. We have done this every year for decades (a weird tradition!) and always have a great experience. Unfortunately, this year, our room had bedbugs. I know that this is always a risk in any hotel. That said, the hotel staff did not take the concern seriously, offer any assistance or suggestions on mitigation, or take any responsibility. They did move us to a new room and gave us a small food credit. But I was extremely disappointed by their lack of response or help (particularly as my child was covered in bites).

Lots to offer...
This was the second time we stayed in the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City this year and we were mostly impressed with both stays. Before this year, we had never been to any New Jersey shore for any vacation. In July, without knowing anything about the Tropicana, I booked a King Executive room in the South Tower with an ocean view. We were really impressed with everything about this room: the large size, the comfortable bed, the large bathroom, the large shower, the great views, etc. It was great to have so many options from the casino, to The Quarter, to the beach, the pools, the boardwalk, etc. We will definitely stay longer next summer. This November, I booked two nights for our anniversary. I again selected an Executive King in the South Tower with an ocean view. Again, the room was mostly good except for two things. First, the refrigerator did not work. Second, the windows were so dirty that we could barely see the ocean. What a disappointment--we should not have paid extra for this. But again, we loved The Quarter and the casino. Everything was decorated for Christmas, which was a real bonus. We also got to see Wicked at the IMax Theater. We noticed that there are some upgrades going on and the carpet in the hallways on our floor in the South Tower was brand new. Since we've had two good experiences at the Tropicana, we are looking forward to booking another trip in February.

Upgrade
I love the jr suite. Appreciate the upgrade. Please put the jr suite on my preferences profile. My card kept deactivating. Dining was ok. We ate at P F Chang and hooters. Slots were not paying. Went to the resorts and won, can back to the Tropicana to no avail
