    Great Location

Dossier Hotel is a lovely boutique hotel conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Portland, Oregon. It’s an easy walk to shopping (such as Nordstrom, Target, CVS and Providence Place Mall) restaurants, food trucks, Providence Park, Powell’s Books, Voodoo Donut, the waterfront, the TriMet rail system and more. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and after a flight delay we were pleasantly surprised to be offered an upgrade. The lobby area looked so comfortable to sit and relax but we were so tired that we just wanted to get to sleep. Our room was comfortable and clean, there was ample seating, a mini-fridge, and I especially loved that the artwork on the walls were all done by local artists. I also liked that there were outlets on the desk and both nightstands so we could charge our phones and electronics without "fighting" for an outlet. The bathroom was spacious with a separate tub and shower. There was plenty of counter space and shelves, however not enough towel racks and no towel hooks to hang used towels. A lighted magnifying mirror was a plus and there was a full-length mirror behind the bathroom door. It was also nice to be provided more than enough towels and bathroom amenities for our long weekend stay. The $25 guest amenity fee included a $5 Lobby Kiosk credit where you can choose from a variety of drinks and snacks, daily bottled water, wifi, coffee and tea, all things we took advantage of but you can find the complete list HERE. Staff was very friendly and if helping another guest, would acknowledge our presence to let us know it would be just a moment. Something that I think is lacking these days so when it does happen I notice and definitely appreciate the courtesy. Though we didn’t bring our pet, it’s good to know Dossier is a pet friendly hotel and hope to stay here with her on a future visit to Portland. On a side note, we happened to be in Portland on marathon weekend and the runners ran right past the hotel. We cheered them on there then walked around the corner to grab a cup of coffee from Capital One Cafe, then across the street, from there, to Pioneer Square to get breakfast at the Fried Egg Food Truck. We then took everything and walked over to the Waterfront to cheer on the top 3 runners as they crossed the finish line. It was a memorable weekend in Portland made perfect by our stay at the Dossier!

    Amazing beds and staff

The beds were so comfortable with wonderful sheets and comforter. Everyone in our group said they slept great! The staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel feels welcoming with the decor, colors, and furnishings.

    Far exceeded expectations

We were a bit dubious about this hotel since it is near downtown. We've stayed at a hotel on the other side of the river and had a terrible experience so I was prepared to leave after 1 night. We found the hotel to be really wonderful. Upon arrival we were met by a very friendly bell hop, checked in quickly and he took our bags to our room. The room was very large (even considering we booked an upgraded room) and was spotlessly clean. We really appreciated that they furnished the room nicely without being over the top with unnecessary junk on every surface. The sofa and chairs were comfortable but the big hit of the room was the BED. This bed was soft on top but felt firm underneath. Both the wife and I slept great (which is rare). The linens are better than average and the pillows were also amazing. Truly a 1st class sleep... something that it seems almost every hotel seems to forget about. The bathroom also was a wonderful experience... a rain shower head in a stand up shower (big enough for a 300 lb guy) is a nice way to wake up. There was also an oversized tub that we didn't use. Towels and amenities were similarly up scale. Last but very much not least, the staff was consistently welcoming and helpful. The facilities seemed very very clean and new, overall the hotel felt very well maintained. The only negative I can offer about the hotel is parking... they offer valet parking using an outside vendor and a parking lot a couple blocks away. It was expensive (even for Seattle) and sometimes it took 30 minutes to get my car. It was far from ideal but once I knew the process I would just call for my car a little bit earlier. Less than ideal but far from a big issue. Overall we were really thrilled. We felt like we finally found a hotel to match the great restaurant scene.

    Quiet, Convenient & Comfortable

As the saying goes "People don't remember what you tell them, but they remember how you make them feel". The Dossier Hotel made us feel welcomed and important. The staff gave us great recommendations close by for dining and was helpful and knowledgeable in all matters. A large bath awaits the tired traveler, and the thick towels and robes are yummy. Amazingly affordable.

A decent hotel in Downtown Portland

The hotel is located centrally in Downtown Portland. The cleanliness and service was above my expectations. A good value for money; Tastefully designed interiors and kind and helpful staffs. Will recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Downtown.
