    Great Hotel

This is a huge Hotel, in the middle of everything, is connected to a shopping center that has restaurants and department stores, you can even get to the Hallmark Museum from here. The bed is very comfortable, the room had a weird smell. But everything was perfect. People were friendly. And no shuttles to the airport, here is my view

    Excellent

Very nice Hotel. Very clean. Front desk Representatives were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast made to order. Attached to a mall, that has a food court for a quick bite to eat. Not far from downtown KC, with the free street car. Union station is across the street and easily accessible via the skywalk.

BE WARNED! Hotel Cancelled Stay Prior to Trip - Overbooked? - Thanks Titanium Elite status!

Hotel booked. Days later get inaudible vm from Shakiqua @ front desk & email arbitrarily changed my reservation. Hotel excuse was desk clerk made an error. I'm Titanium Elite & stay 75+ nights a year. Is this the new normal for loyalty? I spoke w/ Collin. Not apologetic of THEIR mistake. Very glib in his demeanor. Wouldnt take ownership. Called Elite hotline & they were appalled @ lack of flexibility. Said I be 'greatly compensated'. You think? Price gauging. Social injustice. Fraud. I work in the legal industry & this is a slam dunk. Collin confessed if I wanted to pay $300 more they could ‘squeeze me in’ as if he could do me a favor? So, it really comes down to that, which I guess is the amount you put on a lifelong customer. Really? I was never even offered that option. Is this really my Rewards benefit? Challenged by the hotel & deemed not worthy of staying there? Then having clerk decide when I should stay? I didn't see that in the fine print. I've never had this type of 2nd class citizen treatment w/ no atonement. This has tarnished my view & attitude on the entire Marriott brand. W/ social media I can't imagine how negativity & bad press will affect the hotel. The irony of 'hospitality' is glossed over by greed to make a few extra dollars @ the expense of a loyal customer. Amidst the fear of unemployment from petty functionaries if they actually admit THEY made a mistake. I'm a middle aged white guy w/ no agenda, but w/ some extra time on my hands. So, this isn't over.

    A great stay

This is a wonderful hotel. All the amenities that one could want and staff that go above and beyond to make your stay something special. The location is perfect, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the views of the city are delightful. We had a Club level suite on a higher floor and it was worth the extra expense. The Club Lounge is a great gathering place and offers so many extras. The proximity to Union Station, the WWI Museum and many more sights was wonderful. The food was excellent. I am terrible with names but I have to say that the ladies serving in the Club Lounge (11 - 15 Jan) were unbelievably welcoming - always remembered your name, drink & food preferences and previous conversations. It was a home away from home. We will be back.

Huge hotel with nice conference center

Came to town for a three day conference and overall really enjoyed my stay. When I first checked in they put me on a low floor with access to a courtyard that led the the street. I was extremely uncomfortable with this (I have high floor preference in my Marriott account) and called the desk to request a change. I was placed on a hold for a very long time but was eventually switched to a higher floor. I was extremely appreciative for the change and to be moved to the loyalty floor. Incidentally, my Marriott status should have put me on that floor to begin with but again glad that it was rectified. The bar and lobby area were inviting, appetizers and drinks were well made. Nice to have starbucks coffee on hand. We loved that the hotel was connected to Union Station, which is an awesome place to walk around. What little interaction I had with staff was great. Rooms were large and comfortable.
