Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort
I was invited to a brunch at this resort to celebrate a family occasion! It was a sumptuous brunch with every brunch item you could desire, great atmosphere and excellent service! There was also free parking.
Nice Springbreak vacation
We stayed at the Westin during the Springbreak. The location of the hotel is far enough from the action. We liked the fact that there was a passageway to get to the beach. When we were there, the hotel pool was closed for maintenance. They gave us access to the pool at the W next door which was nice. Overall we had a good stay, everyone working at the Westin was nice and helpful. We found that if was difficult to find places to eat that were affordable and kid friendly close to the hotel. And, we did not like the "window" in the bathroom!
Westin 3 day stay
Very nice & spotless hotel even during busy season. Staff were superb: Judy , pool mgr. superb customer service & very courteous. Storm, long time bellman was the nicest and most professional of any we ever had the pleasure of being taken care of in all our years of hotel stays. Excellent. David, CS front desk check in. Again very professional and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great room great attended beach & pool. The MX restaurant was very busy and the food and service were most impressive. We also liked the snack bar and breakfast buffet. Jon & Becky M
Nice hotel but....
The location of this hotel is great. Easy access to the beach and in a very vibrant area. However when we were the the beaches were closed which meant the pool area was packed and mostly with spring breakers. No space for us to sit at all. It's not the hotels fault that the beaches were closed but it would have been a nice gesture on their part had they decided to wave the resort fee. Add the resort fee and parking and its almost $100 added to your stay. Be warned that the bathrooms offer very little privacy. The attached restaurant was very good with an excellent view.
5 days at the W
Stayed in a Cool Corner Room at the W in late February. Overall a good stay but several issues. Room had a nice view but the layout of the room is a bit odd. There is no door from the bedroom into the bathroom which results in a lack of privacy. Also, the shower/bedroom wall is opaque glass. I was out early every morning for meetings while my wife slept in. The light from the bathroom flooded the sleeping area through that wall. Overall, service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. My biggest complaint is the pool area. The chairs are right on top of each other and the area can be very congested. I found out that this was due to the hotel (and other hotels in the area) selling day passes to the pool. It is a little ridiculous to pay $400. to $800 or more per night and then have to fight for space at the pool with people who are paying $45. for a day pass.
