Great old hotel whether on a budget or not
My wife and I had been to the Waikiki area 10 years prior for our honeymoon. It was such a amazing trip, but the last thing we wanted to do was try to replicate it. So we chose a different hotel, picking the Twin Fin for the compromise between luxury and price. Sure, it doesn't have a spa and the only breakfast in the hotel is pre-paid buffet, but everything else was on par with the cost of the room. At check-in, the receptionist was polite and helpful, even giving us some chocolates because I noted our stay was for our anniversary. Decent pool, although we never used it. Tiki's is a cool place, but a bit more expensive than other hotel restaurants in the area. It's walkable to a TON of other restaurants and stores in the area, which is always good. The condition of the hotel seems to be scrutinized in a lot of reviews. Sure, it's not brand new and definitely shows some age, but from what I've read, basically all the hotels in the area are the same. I mean, they were mostly built in the 50's and 60's, so of course they won't look brand new. There was some minor construction, renovations of rooms and the hall while we were there, but it never disrupted our sleep of our relaxation. We had an oceanfront king room, which was somewhat small, but for our use, it was just fine. The balcony was nice, great to sit and have morning coffee or evening refresher. There was a mini fridge in the room that was good enough to hold a few beverages and occasionally some leftover food. Everything appeared generally clean, although there was a definite odor of mildew in the room. It wasn't bad enough to complain or cause issue for us, but it was there, nonetheless. Again, old building with old building problem. Overall, our stay was great. If we were going to stay on that end of Waikiki again, I would have no problem choosing the Twin Fin again. I would also have no problem recommending it to anyone who wants to be in that area and doesn't want to overpay for a brand name.

Twin Finn Hotel
My room was clean and my bed extra comfortable. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel is old but location is excellent. I enjoyed the Tiki/Grill and the breakfast which commenced while I was there was good and the area on the 21st floor had fantastic views. The only thing I would like to see is a dedicated lounge area where you can read a book or just relax so you can have a break from your room. I feel the resort fee is far too high and needs to be reassessed by the hotel.

Highly recommended!!!
The accommodations at The Twin Fin were perfect. We enjoyed our room and our spectacular view was breathtaking! The breakfast was fantastic and allowed us to try some local fare. Our reservation also included free chair and body board rentals from Beach Candy which was really convenient. Ukulele lessons by the pool were fun. I also participated in the free beach yoga class with Zen Fitness —-Julia was awesome!

The youth experience 1/5 stars
God I haven’t been treated this bad ever. I understand as a young looking traveler I get looked down on but just because there is a grad night going on for HIGHSCHOOL doesn’t mean every person who looks like they are 20 are in the same group. I’m 25 going on vacation with my girlfriend for her birthday. The room had features such as a chromecast that reset after ever 5 minutes making it a pain in the neck to use. Toilet was so close to the damn ground that even though I don’t think I have the biggest package ever my privates we’re consistently touching the water every time I was using it to go to the restroom. Call guest service from the phone about 3 times they never picked up and after day 3 phone legit just didn’t work anymore. Got the floor with all the grad night people and the doors are paper with hooligans running up and down the halls. Asked for room service at the reception and instead of being treated as a guest in this hotel I got scoffed at for not remembering the group I was in. IM NOT IN THE DAMN GROUP AS THE GRAD NIGHT PEOPLE. If I get treated this bad for just being younger looking so much that I get treated by the staff as 2nd class citizen for paying out my pockets for a room with my girlfriend I. Get a room that’s damn everything wasn’t working at all. Ask for toilet paper because we didn’t even get a housekeeping till day 4… I’ve had 3 star hotels come up and clean my room when I call. I CANT EVEN USE THE PHONE TO CALL GUEST SERVICE OR HOUSEKEEPING BECAUSE ITS BROKEN TOO. Moral of the story if you look anywhere sub 20 don’t go here they treat you like an idiot and no better than motels I’ve been to. Wanted a good hotel and experience for my girlfriend but the treatment at the receptionist for being young looking was rude and unprofessional I’m 25 I paid I deserve fair treatment or at least a damn semi working room especially when I’m coming down every day talking about the issues in the damn room

Twin Fin Hotel false smoking charge
On May 16 2025, upon checking out from Twin Fin hotel we were charged with a $500 smoking fee, even though we do not smoke at all. While we were arguing about it, the fron desk called the cop and we almost missed our flight. Since then we complained this to the hotel and relevant authorities. The fee has been refunded. From online searching, I know this happened to many people in the past, and I am demending the hotel to change their current practice and review / refund people who were falsely charged for smoking fees in the past. If you are one of these people, it is not too late to get your money back.
