Great location
While the location of this hotel is ideal, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. We got a great deal for about $250 per night (Black Friday deal), including resort fees and taxes, and stayed in an oceanfront room. For this price, I would recommend the hotel, but I wouldn’t pay much more to stay here. Our toilet broke at one point which they fixed pretty quickly. Our TV never worked (we didn’t ask for them to fix it bc we were out and about the whole time) and the phone didn’t work great either. The rooms were pretty clean though a bit dusty and the bed was comfortable. I think this hotel could be great with some TLC. We enjoyed the Tiki restaurant (great views) onsite and the spectacular sunsets from the balcony. I find most hotels on the Hawaiian islands to be overpriced, and this was no exception. Again, it has a lot going for it in terms of location. You can walk to the main part of Waikiki in 7 to 10 minutes, but you’re out of the thick of it. If you can get a good deal, it’s worth a stay for the location.

Sent by the airline after a cancelled flight
After our flight off the island got cancelled due to mechanical problems, Alaska Airlines placed us in this hotel. Great location on Waikiki Beach right in the center of all the action and nightlife. Both check-in, and check-out, were fast and the desk clerks were friendly. Our 6th floor ocean view room was great. The elevators required a keycard to use and the area felt safe. Although not a resort, a great location in the heart of Waikiki near the zoo. The only negative would be a lack of parking.

Great Location and View with a Youthful Design
We enjoyed our stay at the Twin Fin. It featured an aesthetic, updated design and the partial ocean view of Waikiki from our room was beautiful. The king room was on the small side but nicely decorated and we appreciated the small balcony to have coffee in the morning and enjoy the view. The pool deck was lovely, which striped umbrellas and plenty of loungers. The hotel is on the far end of Waikiki near Kapiolani park, with the beach right across the street. It's also close to the big banyan tree where free hula shows are performed often. The Tiki restaurant at the hotel had a great happy hour with live music and a warm, mellow vibe. One thing we didn't like was the musty smell in the room. It seemed to be coming from the air vent in the bedroom. Luckily we were able to air out the room by keeping the slider open for a while and creating a cross breeze by opening the door to the room which also faced an open air hallway. We were only there 2 nights, but if we were there any longer we would have asked someone to look at it (Room 909, I believe). It was also a little noisy as there was a loading dock for the Marriott across the street that did a daily pick up (not for a long duration though) and a bit of road noise. It was pretty much soundproof with the slider shut, however. Parking was expensive at over $50/night but there are some lower cost options nearby. Overall, it was a fun experience for a short stay.

A basic budget satisfactory stay. Nothing bad but nothing great.
I booked this hotel because we travelled during the busy Christmas winter break and hotel rates were at a super high premium. We knew it was not going to be 5 star luxury but it checked a lot of boxes. Ocean front, connecting rooms and renovated. Tho the renovation already felt worn and very budgeted. Lipstick on a pig feeling. Quick paint job over everything. A little disappointing at first but once we settled in, the perks of location, breakfast, and free beach chairs, umbrellas and stand up paddle kick in. The breakfast upstairs is busy! Incredible views and nicer decor. Food menu was more than adequate with a buffet of fruits and pastries. Can't imagine their garbage waste though as paper cups and bamboo plates were used. Not very environmental. A decent stay if you are not fussy. We had ocean front king connecting to a junior. Lots of space but not a lot of storage.

High hopes, low reality
The bed and kind gentleman at the front desk are the only reason this even gets 2 stars. Miscommunication about check in/out (it’s 3/11 vs the opposite), our room wasn’t ready so got a different room that was dirty instead, rude check-in lady, confusing elevators.
