    25th Anniversary

We were very excited to spend our 25th anniversary weekend at The Tremont House as this is where we spent the weekend after we got married. My husband surprised me by booking us into The Palmetto Suite. Unfortunately, the the street noise was very loud. There were only the shutters on the windows and no blackout curtains, which could have helped with some sound reduction. The jetted tub wasn’t functioning and the fixtures were leaky. I’m not sure if we will be back.

    Give Tremont a try

What a wonderfully pleasant hotel! Beautifully appointed, historic, and up-to date! Be entertained with a ghost story while enjoying a beverage in the first floor bar OR thrill at a view (as I did!) of Galveston from the roof-top bar. What a joy to have done both. I found the staff very friendly, eager to help, and on top of their duties (Way to go Christopher)!! The room was beyond comfortable and provided plenty of seating other than the very comfortable bed, desk chair, and sofa. The live jazz trio till 10 p.m. was absolutely talented and could not be heard from within the nearby room :) Feel the need to work out? The first floor gym has top of the line machines and free weights. If you'd rather take in the stand, the Tremont is in the area - only a two minute walk will take you to a myriad of restaurants. I did not have the chance to try the Tremont's cafe but I will next visit. Ah yes, my next visit - I will definitely stay again!!!

    Great Downtown Hotel

Excellent location in downtown Galveston. This historic, upscale hotel is clean and comfortable with a rooftop bar. There is live music in the bar/lounge Saturday nights. The hotel does not have a full service restaurant, but there are many options nearby. There is a restaurant that offers sandwiches, pizza, other other light fare. Two minor annoyances, the box support for our king mattress extends about 6 inches out from the mattress. I banged my toes and shins several times. The faucets on both sinks had a constant drip. But, we loved the hotel and would definitely stay here again. This hotel is for people who like to walk the historic downtown. This hotel as well as its sister property, the Hotel Galvez have been sold and rumor has it that the Marriott chain will take over management in a few years.

    Stay night before cruise

We stayed the night before our cruise. I have nothing but nice things to say about this place and the staff! We parked our car for our cruise here for $40 for the week. We arrived later than we expected for our stay. It was on Sunday 8:30 got checked in had difficulty finding place within walking distance doe dinner so we ate at the cafe inside. Was kinda pricey.

    Great Service

We had an excellent stay at the Tremont. Our King suite was spacious and clean. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Really great location for anyone traveling into Galveston. Make sure you stop by the rooftop bar.
