    Outstanding experience

We were there for three nights and loved the location. Everything is well maintained, the staff was excellent, their rooftop bar is fun, their cafe served great food with large portions at a reasonable price. Our room was quiet, the bed comfortable, no complaints whatsoever. Be aware that street parking is available, but you must prepay and print the ticket from the corner park-pay machines. They do patrol. We'll be back.

    A missed opportunity

I met up with a childhood friend to have a getaway and enjoy a wonderful, historic seaside hotel. It all started well, but our check-in experice, where both of our reservation were on separate days. The clerk was so unfriendly and unhelpful. She manged to get my friend rebooked because her reservation was in the future, but when it came to my reservation which had been booked in the past things went further downhill. I had to insist that she contact someone to see what they could do, my card had already been charged $180+ and she said I would have to pay again and sort it out the next day. As both of our respective vacations had been incorretly booked, I felt that the onus was on them to sort it out right away. The straw was having the clerk mutter something under her breath. I really felt like I had stepped through to another dimension to be treated so poorly. After, and only after I had become upset, but not rude, did she make a call and get everthing straightened out. Just like that, problem solved, but at the expense of my excitement of meeting up with an old friend in a fabulous hotel. The hotel itself is fabulous with a gorgeous atrium, rooms with sky-high ceilings and French windows. The beds were very comfortable and I love a bathroom with a bathtub! Everyone else at the hotel was so friendly and kind. The food in the cafe was good and the rooftop bar is worth an evening visit. The clerk who was on duty for our checkout was so firendly and heard my complaints with empathy, it made up for the check in experience, however, the missed oppertunity to give a great guest experience, despite booking glithches was missed. We valeted our rental car for $20 a night, but it also allowed us to park at The Galvez right next to the beach without an extra charge. While The Galvez is a grander hotel, there was just something magical about The Treamont House that was special. Without the ghastly checkin experience, I this woudl have been a 5 star review.

    Dirty 30 Birthday Weekend

We had seven rooms reserved for a birthday weekend. Wonderful place to stay. Front desk staff and outdoor staff were at the top of their game. Roof top bar opened back up just in time for the weekend. It turned out to be a perfect party weekend at The Tremont House in Galveston.

    Great Hotel

Enjoyed our staycation. From Houston and wanted a change for the weekend. They did a wonderful job with social distancing at the rooftop bar, and with all cleaning, pipe, and sanitizing. Will go back when I need another break from home!

    Great ambience!

Due to some plumbing issues we had to move rooms after the first night (location was not the greatest as it overlooked the front hotel awning). Bummer! 2nd room had only 1 window, shorter ceilings, smaller bath area. It is a vintage building & has great ambience. Rooms, baths, & common areas are in need of TLC & updates. The rooftop bar was very enjoyable but only open limited hours (due to Covid restrictions) & so was the lobby bar. Food in the cafe was ok for breakfast (we didn't eat any other meals there). Linens were a bit rough but bed was very comfy.
