Outstanding in every way. Love Steamboat and Steamboat Grand.
This was our third stay at Steamboat Grand. Our family of 6 takes a yearly ski trip and we’ve been fortunate to ski and stay at some great resorts -Vail, Telluride, Park City, Breckinridge and Jackson Hole among others. This resort is the best. Everyone at the hotel was kind, attentive and helpful. Our 3 bedroom was beautiful, immaculate and comfortable. The mountain is amazing. We didn’t want to leave! Can’t wait to come back again. Thank you Steamboat Grand!

Location is the best attribute
Bottom line- the hotel is about a 3- the location is a 5. We were stayed President's weekend- probably one of the busiest times. We had a 2 bedroom condo- it was dated for sure. But honestly outside of the very high end luxury hotels in ski areas most of these places are. You are paying for location- which is excellent. Despite being a bit dated - it was good space, kitchen was small - if you plan on cooking dinner very night might be a bit difficult with sparse equipment- but we only make pretty basic breakfast and it was fine. There is a great shuttle to town- where there is a good variety of restaurants. Base area also has good options. My kids liked the pool/hot tub for apers ski- and I did use the fitness center on the last day. Could be better equipment (3 treadmills- 1 broken), but a big space- weights, ellipticals etc

Skip Steamboat and the Grand Hotel
Maybe we are spoiled in other ski towns - but if this is the quality of hotels in Steamboat Springs, then I suggest heading elsewhere. It's an expensive hotel, but is like a Motel 8. It's a bit run down (lots of broken items in our room, stained carpet, stained bedspread), not really much going for the room. Moreover, from the moment of arrival it was pretty clear that this place wasn't great. Had to really find help with valet and reception. When I called to try to PAY for a better room, it was an ordeal. Room was really hot, the fireplace, despite on a timer, never shut off, no cups for water in the room... sounds basic, right? Bed is old and furniture is falling apart. As soon as we saw the room, we tried to get a different one - tried to upgrade - no luck. Then tried searching for a better hotel, but I think this is the norm for Steamboat. My recommendation... pay a bit more and go to Aspen or Telluride. If you go to Steamboat, maybe rent a house.

Nice resort - Great Staff and spacious rooms
The concierge was AMAZING. The on-site restaurant was nice and staff was great. Everything was nicely cleaned and maintained. However, the pools, hot tubs, on-site coffee shop/convenience store were all closed the entire week. It did mention the closure of outside pools during this time on the site, however no mention of the closed shop NOR could we even use the hot tub in our room. Very disappointed in that one aspect. Again, the upside for going during low season was that there was no one at the hotel, nor restaurants so we could really do as we pleased (outside of hot tubbing).

Husband's birthday
This is the best hotel room we have ever stayed in. The room was very clean and very large. It had a full kitchen and a fire place. The staff was friendly and the food in the restaurant was delicious.
