Get your information straight.
We booked a couples trip and were a bit disappointed. I specifically booked this room around their “nightly” jazz club entertainment. Before I booked I knew it was closed Monday but had an act Tuesday so I booked the 2 night stay. Upon arrival I confirmed tuesdays entertainment at the desk. Even now on Tuesday, I called and was told it starts at 730. When we get back from our day early to make dinner and the club, the desk tells me there is no entertainment tonight. This is not “nightly” entertainment as advertised and honestly would have stayed elsewhere. The hotel lobby and courtyard is nice but the room for what it costs is on par with a Days Inn room: nothing special. Just ok and not as nice as it seems it should be. Anyway, you need to get your act and front desk communication together better. This is a big letdown.

Great stay at an awesome hotel
We decided to stay at this hotel on Bourbon Street on our visit to New Orleans and enjoyed our stay. Room was awesome, clean and well stocked. Balcony overlooked Bourbon Street (hubby's request) so we had a view nightly of what was happening. I thought the noise would bother me but it really didn't! The staff, from the check in desk to the concierge to the valet parking attendants to the super funny and helpful door man-Caleb were awesome. We were treated quite well by everyone we had contact with. Can't wait to come back and experience it all again.

Next time stick with our guns and reserve a Hilton
We were invited for a friend's milestone birthday and decided to stay with the group. Arrived early, we upgraded you and room is ready, want to check on early? yes thank you, OK Pay $75. In room, no soap/shampoo. Hook upside down and moldy sink.

Always a great stay
It's the staff that make the stay: Wilbert, Wade, Malcolm, Armani, Devis, Ms Ruth. I've been a guest at this hotel for about a decade and their commitment to customer service is outstanding. Some of their staff have been there for decades, which creates the amazing rapport they have with guests. I miss the old R Club that changed greatly after COVID, but was happy to still see the familiar faces once I returned to NOLA. My rooms have always been clean, the breakfast at Desire has always been great, Le Booze's bartenders and drinks are wonderful. Looking forward to a couple of more visits this year.

French Quarter rip off
The Royal Sonesta is converniently located (more about this below) in the central French Quarter. It is well appointed. The employees are fun and friendly. I arranged a slightly better price by booking for five couples, but when another couple signed on weeks later they were not given the price we were offered and paid Approx $100 more per night? We arrived early, exhausted and had to pay a $65 fee for early admission to our room (which was already made up). Next we were told (for the first time), that we would be charged $25/day but that if we spent money on drinks etc. half would go to pay the $25 fee. We opted for a room with balcony. A street drummer played until 2AM; the garbage trucks arrived at 5:30 AM. Bottom line, nice hotel, very noisy; get an inside room and expect to be ripped off by hidden greedy charges.
