    Great Hotel

Pros Rooms are nice, new, clean, quiet, nice and the bathroom has good water pressure and clean and has also a good location and the cottages is nice. Cons The price is really expensive, the ac is lowsy because it blows to your face, and whenever i open the window it always gets cold, the breakfast is not free. Overall I am definitely going to come back whenever I am in Sonoma but the breakfast.

    Great stay

We spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. We loved the individual buildings for the rooms and all of the paths to walk around. Luckily we had nice weather when we were there but I’m not sure how fun it would be if it rained. The room was quite large and very comfortable. We enjoyed the amenities they gave us for the bathroom and really liked the pool area. With the resort fee the rooms also have bikes that you can use. The resort is not really that big to bike around but we ended up biking along a nice trail behind the hotel. It’s easily accessible by biking along Leveroni road going opposite to Broadway. Right after a small vineyard you’ll reach the entrance to the trail. The bikes are a bit difficult to use but eventually we got the hang of it. Overall great hotel with friendly staff and we would love to go back one day.

Foodie amenities with close access to town

My husband and I spent a long weekend with our children. We enjoyed the quiet and seclusion of the property with amenities, such as wine tasting, welcome champagne and a lovely brunch. While the rooms are a bit tired, they had everything we needed for the time we were there. The main restaurant was closed when we were there, but the brunch restaurant had full service and overlooked the pool. We enjoyed the short shuttle into Sonoma for dinner and the location is close to Sonoma, Headlsburg, and fairly close to Napa and Calistoga.

    This place has gone downhill

We have stayed here probably 5-6 times over the last 3 years, and used to really love coming to this hotel. This time, we had checked in around 1PM which was very nice of them to let us check in early. Typically we get a free upgrade to the cottage but I guess this time there were no upgrades available. We get to our room and the water was not working. I called down to the front desk, they said they were so sorry so they asked me to come down to the front desk and exchange my keys to move to a cottage. I bring my stuff downstairs, and when i reach the front desk they apologized and said they don't have any cottages unfortunately. Kind of annoying i brought all of my luggage downstairs so they could tell me that. They said they did have a nicer room but we would have to come back at 1:30pm and that they would call when the room was ready. At 1:30pm we show up and i had no received a call, but suprisingly it was ready. We get into our room, and there is MAJOR construction work happening in the room next to us until 5 o'clock or so, it sounded like a guy had a sander directly on the other side of our wall. Why wouldn't they tell us there is construction happening in the room next to us? So strange, you would think that you explain that to someone. Very frustrating. When we checked out no one asked how our stay was, I would have told them if they asked but they didn't. Overall the customer service missed the mark, for what they charge its unacceptable overall. We are looking for other hotels to stay at in the area for next time we come up.

the cottages at the Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance

Our crowd was mostly put into the cottages, which were spacious and comfortable. We had working gas fireplaces, a nice touch. We were treated well, enjoyed the wine tastings each evenig, and the price was very reasonable for wine country. I enjoyed Sunday brunch/breakfast at the bar, and found the wait staff quite pleasant without being overbearing. The complimentary shuttle service into town was perfect to grab a dinner at OSO, also a great restaurant in town.
