    Mexico Girls Trip 2025!

Friendly staff, Carlos especially! We had a great stay. Only negatives were the constant sale vendors on the beach, and as it’s a smaller resort there aren’t as many options in the evening for a night life. Otherwise it was a great girls trip!!!

    Amazing stay at the Hacienda!

Just leaving the hacienda today and I have to give out some huge props for this place! Yes it’s an older hotel but it’s very clean. It’s the staff here that make this place exceptional, Miguel at the breakfast buffet on the hacienda memorized our drink orders and always had it ready for us as soon as we got there. The servers by the pool were right there every time we finished our drinks to get us more drinks. They even brought us fresh guac and salsa to eat by the pool. While the food at the buffets here wasn’t always amazing, we were always able to find something to eat. The Italian a la carte was fantastic and the piano player was amazingly talented!! Also, there were some raccoons but they were delightful.

Our Baby-Moon overall was enjoyable here!

My husband and I went for a week in April 2025 for our "babymoon." Overall our experience was good. We stayed in a swim out room on the adult only side. The private pool was a good size, clean, but not heated like the main pool. It was great to have a room with the lounge chairs at your pool incase you did not get up early to reserve lounge chairs at the main pool. Note: not all swim out rooms have lounge chairs, some have normal chairs. We noticed that at night, there was a nice light in the pool but it was turning off and on all night about every 30 seconds. Which leads me to all the minor maintenance issues within the room. For example the rainfall showerhead on the ceiling did not work correctly and made a terrible sound. But the main shower head on the wall worked well and had hot water with great pressure. The entire room was very clean and the beds and bedding were very very comfortable. Im not sure if it was a mistake or if they just don't guarantee it but we asked for a king-bed-room and ended up with 2 double beds with the night stand between them. We moved the night stand to one side and pushed the 2 double beds together so we could be closer together. The mini fridge was stocked everyday with water, pop and beer. The esthetic of the room was nice with great colours and beautiful furniture. The lush gardens throughout really made it magical for me as a gardener. I love the different trees and plants that really gave it a tropical feeling. The main pool was fun, pretty and easy to use. Amazing service from the bar. I was drinking zero proof but my husband was drinking alcohol and all the drinks were excellent. Some days we didn't have a lounge chair but we just brought a bag with our towels and left it sitting poolside and it was fine. Beginning in the late afternoon, the condo tower next door blocks the sun and takes hours of sun away from the pool. Once most of the sun is gone, the pool becomes less busy. While we were there, the construction next door was ongoing and disruptive. It sounded like pile driving with repetitive "bang" sounds. It seemed to start in the afternoon and continue into the early evening on a daily basis, even on Saturday. My other negative experience was upon arrival. We arrived to the resort at 7 am after a red eye flight. We asked if an early check in would be possible and said that our room would be available to us at noon instead of 4pm. We were appreciative! But the wrist bands to access the restaurants was a different story. We asked if we could go for breakfast (I was standing there 30 weeks pregnant) They told us we could have our wrist bands at 10 am, 3 hours later. BUT if we agreed to attend their info session and tour for their special rewards program, we could have our wrist bands immediately. This did not sit well with me and I quickly declined attending the info session. We walked less then 5 minutes down the road off the resort and had breakfast at a small restaurant that was enjoyable. The food overall was okay. Lots of options but lacking in quality. Breakfast has always been my favorite meal and the resort breakfast was pretty good. Great egg station made to order. The a la cartes were disappointing. We did leave the resort to eat at near by places. The lunch buffet poolside was pretty good as well. There is an ice cream machine too. You have access to the resort next door and it has a much louder, busier atmosphere. We never swam in the pool there but did notice in the afternoon the condo tower does not block the sun and you will be in the sun until it sets. The beach is not safe for swimming. There was always a red flag flying. Even your visual assessment will tell you it is not swimmable. But the beach is lovely for walking or lounging. The sunsets are beautiful. Lots of beach vendors. We encountered racoons at both resorts, they didn't bother us and staff were pretty quick to chase them away. There is a couple cats at the Hacienda that are no bother. One afternoon at the main pool a large iguana was walking alongside the pool and didn't seem to bother anyone. I personally enjoyed seeing the iguana as it appeared to be wild. Our late checkout was $100 Canadian. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

    Check in with Hugo

Hugo was amazing for check in and was very helpful. Showed us how to use the website to make reservations for dinner and got us into our room promptly. I loved the amazing service upon arrival with the welcome drinks and quick/easy check in process.

Great staff but noise and odors ruined our stay

We asked for a quiet room and were originally placed at the Krystal Grand, but it overlooked a construction site and had a strong mildew smell. Thankfully, Alexandro and Francisco made our move to the Hacienda Krystal seamless—their service was professional, efficient, and friendly. The rooms at the Hacienda are spacious and attractive, but unfortunately, not quiet. Loud music from the neighboring hotel went late into the night—so loud that even noise-cancelling headphones didn’t help. Mornings weren’t much better, with noisy delivery trucks and constant beeping. The sewage smell from the bathroom after showers was also unpleasant. One other issue concerns the hygiene at the lunch buffet in the hacienda pool location. Not only are there pigeons and at least one cat nibbling on the floor, we noticed a black bird landing on the buffet and eating from it. They should rotate the hawk used at the Seafire area to scare away the wildlife. One highlight was the excellent service from Alan, the manager at Le Delice (the French restaurant on-site). He noticed I hadn’t touched my main course, asked why, and offered to pass feedback to the chef. His professional, caring approach stood out—especially compared to our experience the night before at Café des Artistes. In short: wonderful staff, but serious issues with noise, odours, and hygiene
