Most amazing service!!
We had the most amazing time atThe Olympic Bar with Brit! She was such an amazing server and went above and beyond. What fabulous food and atmosphere and this whole hotel has just been an amazing experience! Love staying here and is a great incentive to come to Seattle because it’s such a fabulous hotel!
Great hotel and well located. Lovely decor. Restaurant closed on the evenings we were there but still able to order food at the bar. Entrance elevators are not obvious which meant I struggled with my suitcase on the escalator but can be accessed at street level if you know.
Great stay and HOW to avoid the USD 29 per day "Fairmont Olympic Urban Fee"
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. All the hotel staff are polite and efficient. I had booked a king bed room and was upgraded to a larger room with a sitting area, very nice! It was well appointed, quiet and clean. Be aware that housekeeping is on demand. Insofar as the neighborhood, unfortunately there are a lot of homeless people in various state of mental distress living in the streets and alleys in the area, when walking to the market. I was rather uncomfortable walking in that environment, never knowing what to expect. Nothing to do with the hotel thought. I would have given my stay a 5-star review, if it was not for some unexpected "Fairmont Olympic Urban Fee". I noticed this when having a look at my account on the TV as I did not match the pricing on my reservation. So, there is a 15,7 % tax on your room rate plus a $ 4 per day Seattle city tax properly shown on the reservation rate totals. Then the hotel added US $ 29 per day designated as a "Fairmont Olympic Urban Fee". Since I had booked the stay from home on the Canadian site of Accor, I went to reception and pointed out that Canadian laws & regulations state that all fees and taxes must clearly appear on the total, and this was not the case, so they took it out, no more issue. Also, a company is not allowed to sell and charge you for services that you have not requested and I certainly did not request any of this. What I found amazing however, is that even though they were charging me for the fee, none of the services that are supposed to be included were actually provided! In detail, what is included in this fee and what was provided: 1- Wi-Fi: this is free for all ACCOR ALL (affinity program) so it is not possible to charge again for it 2- Bottled water: had 2 bottles (500 ml) for the whole stay in the room, did not touch them 3- Coffee credit at the bar: was not informed in any way or given coupon 4- Daily sparkling wine: did not get any. I am quite surprised that a high-end hotel would resort to such a way of doing business, really in your pricing what is to be included should be clearly stated. I checked today on the web site and the fee still is not included in the total. For those of you who prefer to avoid the fee: - Tell them in advance when checking in or by email that you will be paying as per your reservation total rate shown, which does not include any urban experience; - Become an ACCOR ALL member to get you free WI-FI; - Advise them you will NOT be purchasing bottled water, sparkling wine and do not require coffee discount coupons for a $ 29 per day fee. Of course, some of you may find these services useful so ignore the above. To conclude, great hotel, just better upfront clarity on your fees is required.
I stay here every time I am in Seattle!
I love the Fairmont Olympic. The customer service is 5 Star all the way. All the staff are friendly and personable, and they make you feel at home. Also, all special requests are attended to with utmost care. The hotel itself is elegant and rooms are neat and spacious with great views of the city.
Clean and comfortable
I really enjoyed my stay. I was traveling for business and would recommend this hotel. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Great location as well. We were able to walk to coffee shops and restaurants.
