    Good facilities, bad food

We were so excited when we find out Hyatt was an option in Cozumel. We could have given 5 stars to this resorts since its facilities are great enough for a resort by the beach, views and the beach are so beautiful. In the other hand, food overall is not good at all for being an all inclusive resort, our last day we had to eat somewhere else outside in town. Service wasn’t great either, staff members specially at the restaurants/buffet/coffee shop don’t really make a better experience to your staying. The only employee that actually had the Hyatt service we are used to get all the time, was Samuel at the front desk!!! He is a gem for this resort.

Great Location, Friendly Staff, & Variety of Fun Activities

Go for the sunsets, not the rooms! If you are a traveler who is only in the room to sleep and shower, then you be will fine at Sunscape. Room: Pros: Clean, steps away from the beach, AC nice and cool. Cons: Outdated, small, no dressers or place to put clothes away (there is a closet to hang clothes, but anything else will need to stay in your suit case), one sink, not enough hooks to hang towels, & no full length mirror. The rooms pretty much lack the small details that make your stay more convenient. We stayed in an ocean view jr. suite, which is about 300 sq. ft. There are bigger rooms, but they are garden view. So, you sacrifice space for view/location. There were 4 of us (2 adults, 2 children) but it might be okay for 2 people. Service: Overall, the service was great. Any issues we had were taken care of in a timely manor. Josephina, our housekeeper was super friendly. Garney, was a great waiter who got to know our drinks and would have them at our table as soon as we sat down. Esmeralda was a great hostess. The two ladies who were in charge of entertainment were fun and engaging. Alfredo, who was in charge of the water activities, was always friendly and helpful. At the U Lounge, Agnes and Catalina, were very helpful and friendly, as well. Juan Carlos at Amstar was helpful too. Location: One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. There are so many fun things to do, that it makes up for the room not being the best. Suggested activities: 1. snorkeling--you can snorkel for free right on the resort, but I recommend paying someone to take you out on a boat and into the ocean to snorkel. So worth it! 2. Zip lining, ATVS, Cave diving. We used Aventura Maya. Great company. 3. Hire a driver to take you on a tour of the island and go to the national park where they have the most beautiful beach (Punta Sur)! The sand is super soft and the water is gorgeous. Our driver was amazing--Javier (van #524, phone# 987 100 86 85)--book him! And go to Senior Iguana's for lunch. The food and service was amazing. Overall, I would recommend Sunscape for the location and activities and if you have young children. If you want a luxurious room and fine dining, then I would not recommend Sunscape.

    Girls trip

A friend and Myself came to sun scape as a girls trip. We had the time of our lives here. We enjoyed the room, the views, the food and especially the service. We ate at sunny side inside of the resort the most, and we were waited on by Garni. He was hands down fantastic. Best waiter at the resort. And Esmeralda, she works at the front of the restaurant- she was amazing as well. We couldn’t leave without telling them goodbye. If I could suggest anything, maybe a little more night time entertainment. And some more food options. But, all in all, we were satisfied. Thanks for a great trip!

Worst F&B quality and service , good facilities .

Hotel has great facilities and a great beach , besides that staff needs more training they do not know the hotel basics but the WORST of this hotel is their Food and Beverage department , get ready to struggle with the service and specially with the food quality, the worst experience I had in my entire life . If the schedule on the restaurants and bars says they close at certain time be there 1 hour earlier otherwise they ran out of food and drinks , food is terrible , taste is terrible , portions are a joke . Get ready to eat at the snack bar every day because their restaurant options are just terrible . Shame because it is a beautiful hotel but I won’t come back because of their F&B quality .
