Me and my fiancé love Sonesta Resort. It’s our first time coming and won’t be our last. Such friendly service, The beach is a beautiful scenery along with the rest of the resort. I feel like they are my 2nd family.
We came in a night early and our condo was not ready so we stayed at Sonesta. This place is beautiful, friendly staff, very nice amenities. The pool is heated and the kids loved it. We will definitely come again.
Amazing place to rest - staff is wonderful
Sonesta has just everything you need in a not over the top but in an elegant designed way. Great access to the beach, pool, food, fire pits... Food here is some of the best on the island! Staff are extra friendly, professional - Landscaping & greenery is excellent!
We enjoyed our stay at Sonesta Resort! We stayed for 5 days, and the weather was (almost) perfect. They handled Covid-19 well with adequate safety rules and procedures. Room was spacious, pool was nice, and access to the beautiful beach was easy. We enjoyed getting to know Eric, a bellman, is who quickly learned our names and gave us tips for seeing the island. November was a great time to go, not as crowded, and we would definitely stay here again!
First of all my husband and I read several reviews and picked Hilton Head Island Sonesta as our destination weekend getaway(we had 10 hours in the car to read blogs and decide) when we arrived Friday evening the entrance was pretty and we then went to our average room. We figured the room would be basic but felt that would be fine since we wouldn’t be in there that much. We decided to have dinner outside at Heywards that evening and was disappointed due to a black cat that was around us our entire dinner even when we and others asked staff to deal with the situation, they came out and would pet the cat and do nothing else about it. Then the next morning we decide to give them another try and have breakfast and our waitress was not friendly and when asked a question about the favorites here she said it’s a limited menu and I don’t eat breakfast so I don’t know. Again disappointed. We asked about the sweet cane pool bar hours and was told they were going to open on Saturday and Sunday so my husband and I decided to site see on Saturday and have a pool day Sunday only to be told Saturday afternoon that the Sweet Cane poolside bar would not be open d/t limited guests staying but that we could go inside and order drinks (who wants to do that and get dressed each time to go inside and order drinks...not us! But we drove 10 hours to relax poolside so we spent Sunday at the pool. (The sign said not outside drinks or coolers but when looking at a few guests they had went out and purchased their beverage of choice while my husband and I went inside to get our drinks and I’m sure spent a lot more money then buying drinks at a local grocery and bringing them in) Again very disappointed! So besides the scenery I feel we could have stayed somewhere else that still accommodated their guests during off season then here. There was a few hotels that was by the Tiki Hut that was serving drinks/food and were entertained by daily bands.(we had day drinks Saturday at the Tiki Hut and decided we made the wrong choice and should have not stayed at the Sonesta) We are not the type of people to give reviews but felt others should know and ask questions instead of viewing Sonestas website since there was no mention of things not being opened on their resort property that would be offered the same during off season.
