The room was perfect, the staff friendly and helpful. I especially appreciate seeing the bed made every evening when I got back to the room, with fresh towels provided. These are the standards I have come to expect with Sonesta. Thank you for making my stay in Malvern most enjoyable.
I usually am very pleased with staying at Sonesta Suites in Malvern, but this last stay was a huge disappointment. Firstly, the didn't not have my reservation, which then proceeded to be a half-hour long wait as the front desk receptionist discussed the situation with the primary Sonesta Suites person-in-charge on the telephone. She did try to ease my nerves by offering some free snacks, and a room in a "quiet" location. However, when I got to the room, it smelled like someone had a pasta party the night before. Very unpleasant odor. I then laid down on the bed for some much needed rest, and all I could hear was the slamming of the door in the room below as someone was going in and out constantly for 15 minutes. I think it was the maid. I eventually cut my stay short because of all these reasons.
Sonesta Malverne, PA
Loud banging on the floor from the occupants above late at night. No teapot in room as previously requested. Breakfast was late opening. Sign said 6:30 AM. Opened an hour later. Food was just Ok. Wrong suite..Ordered King and Queen. Received King and 2 twins. Stayed here many times before but seems to be slipping and charging a higher fee for lesser service.
An excellent hotel on the Philadelphia Mainline (in Malvern)
Well set back from the nearby highways. Comfortable rooms, suite-style, with kitchen utensils, dishes, etc. Free hot breakfasts. Great friendly and helpful staff. Easy parking. Generous shuttles to/from the Philadelphia airport, if needed.
Good amount of space for the price, but....
Stayed here three weekends I the past two months. Same room each time. The two bedroom suite is a good price for the space, but the carpet in the living area is disgusting. Breakfast is sparse but would be sufficient if the eggs were not burnt, I guess it is standard practice, six mornings at breakfast and each time the eggs were burnt. If there is sausage, it is burnt too. The bacon option is fine. Last morning there, both juices, the water, and the milk were empty with no attendant to be found. Also told the desk each stay about the non-functioning deadbolt in the room (not aligned properly), each time I am told it will be noted and fixed, but it never has been. Fitness room is ok.
