    Nice oceanfront hotel

    Pros: Nice bed, semi-quiet room, spacious, nice decor in hotel itself. The location of the hotel is nice, convenient to the boardwalk, shops, restaurants, etc. Enjoyed walking around taking in the ocean views, as well as the hotel itself, very pretty. Too cold for the outdoor pool, but the indoor pool was pleasantly warm and fun to swim in. Exercise room- well equipped, thanks. Cons: Need a lamp at the desk in the room, need places to hang wet towels, speaking wet- the floor was wet by the AC and the room had a musty smell- not good. We were told they didn't have another room to relocate us too as some conference was going on and the place was booked. Ugh..drain was clogged in the bathtub, but we didn't ask for maintenance as didn't want to disrupt our place and again no alternate room to go to.

    Dirty/Aweful

    Given wrong room at check in, had to wait to next day to fix it, but we had to call several times. Staff seemed annoyed and not friendly. Hallways and stairwells very dirty-see pictures Pool cloudy and outside pool bathrooms scary-no locks on doors Outside bar staff unfriendly, such a waste of a vacation, so disappointing We were trying to celebrate our wedding anniversary Left a day early

    Not Too Bad, Needs Updating

    I recently stayed here for a little staycation. I give big props, first off, for Luis at the front desk. He was a picture of great customer service. Also, I think his name was Andy, in the outside bar area was pretty cool. However, the physical property is in serious need of some TLC. I had pretty significant issues with my toilet, specifically. On a regular basis, it used way too much water to flush. However, it didn't flush most of the time. I also tried calling the front desk and received no response. Really, the entire hotel really needs a total overhaul.

    Great location, needs some updates

    Pros: Location is great - right by the boardwalk, beach, and easy walking to restaurants. Front desk staff were nice. Cons: Tower rooms suffer from hearing loud screeching noises from the elevators (imagine nails on a chalkboard every few minutes all night long). Front desk said this was because the tower was 30 years old, with no elevator maintenance in the near future - they offered ear plugs. Carpet was coming up in corners, our coffee pot didn't work, picture frames on wall were broken, and lots of scratches on door frame. Dogs are allowed, which is a pro if you bring one - a con if you're listening to them bark next door while trying to sleep. Price exceeded quality.

    Most Disgusting Hotel We have stayed in.

    We went to the Sheraton Virginia Beach for my 60th birthday present and what a mistake it was. Almost $400 for the first night and used 180,000 points plus $89.00 for the other nights. We first get there and there no available carts and was then told there were no bell hops. We are both disabled so this was very hard to carry the items up to the rooms. We get to the room and there was long hair in the sink and the bath room was falling apart. The sink and toilet paper holder were broken and an empty tissue box. I went to front desk to try to change rooms and was told they were sold out. I went back to the room furious and called back to the front desk asking for the manager. The next day the manager put us into another room and it was no better. This place is falling apart. Faucet broken in bathroom. Toilet paper holder broken. Took a shower and it flooded the bathroom floor. The first night that we were in the 2nd room a couple next door was fighting all night long and we could not sleep. Called down to the front desk twice and no one answered the phone. They were so loud and we got no sleep. They also had a dog in the room that was barking all night. I went back to the manager and she did nothing. She was nice but did nothing about it. I found out the hotel let animals stay in the rooms. No working exhaust fans in the bathrooms. I was wondering why my face and nose was itching from allergies. I cannot believe the Sheraton is owned by Marriott and that they would put us in a room like this for 8 days. The sofa bed in the room was so worn and dirty that I would not sit on it. The floor were filthy. The rail on the decks were rusted and bathroom was molded. Had to search on floors because many of the ice machines were broken so you had to walk up and down steps because the elevators were so slow, crowded and molded. Had to search for ice. Had to go to different floors to try to find a maid to give me clean towels. I have never been to such a nasty hotel to stay in. Tried to use the pool and was not able to for they were trying to getting the chemicals straightened out. Tried to get food from the restaurant there and could only get certain items and only at certain times. TV cable kept going out. Under the bed was someone's Q-tips and other disgusting things. The main floor smelled like mildew and there was sand everywhere. This hotel needs to be shut down and Marriott should be refunding people for staying in this place. I took pictures so that I can send them to the Marriott. This is making me want to cancel my membership with Marriott. So upset and ruined my birthday. I will be contacting the better business bureau about this hotel and my experience.
