Excellent Reservation Assistance
I would like to share that Pamela the reservations manager at the Sheraton Sand Key was extremely helpfully during this coronavirus pandemic. The agency we booked with would not respond to our emails to cancel our reservation. She contacted them and tried her best to help with the situation. Super hotel and staff we will definitely book again through the Sheraton site.
use to be very reasonable & could use points with a nice room.had great clubhouse floor and went every year in may. cheaper to go to nassau for a longer stay. nice area to visit but got too expensive !
Arrived here today. Already very impressed. The staff here are older and it works really well. They are mature, calm, polite, interested, sincere, genuine.....Cyndy at front desk was terrific today pulling out all the stops to get a room ready for us after a technical hitch with reservation. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable.... even the in- room hairdryer is pretty good. There are no parking fees. You have free access to the local trolley service. The beach is to the rear of the hotel..... at least the sand starts at the immediate rear.... it's about a 5 minute walk down to the waters edge. There are plenty of sun loungers and even a few hammocks close to the hotel. This is unusual in beach hotels! There are no people approaching your lounger to sell tat... it's pure bliss. The beach/pool/room towels are whiter than white and soft. (In my opinion... the towels are a great measure of a hotel) Restaurant staff in Rudys are excellent. Again they are older and it works really well. Food is excellent too.
Cold Weather Followed Me to Clearwater Beach, Florida
I arrived at TPA (Tampa International Airport) amidst one of the coldest weekends in recent memory, according to the "locals." I took a Lyft to the much-ballyhooed Sheraton Sand Key Resort arriving just before the upscale hotel restaurant closed. Not to worry, they allowed me to enjoy one of the most satisfying bowls of conch chowder i have ever had. My expected "Ocean Front" suite on a "high" floor turned out to be a rather small room on the fourth floor with a VERY partial "ocean view" (the ocean was so far away and I could only see a sliver of it from my cold balcony). So much for reserving ahead of time. I was told by the friendly front desk personnel that the hotel was "completely sold out" (I've heard that before). There were hoards of loud, boisterous, obnoxious and inebriated visitors (many probably from Philadelphia, based on their baseball caps). There were also a disproportionate number of liberally tattooed individuals (some who were quite corpulent and should NEVER wear spandex or Speedos) who seemed to always be comparing their "ink" to one another in the crowded and slow elevators. I was expecting a "higher" caliber of hotel guests but it is what it was. Will I stay there again? I don't know.
Free parking, beach access, and great location!
This hotel has everything you could want for a beach vacation. Beach front access is incredible. Parking is plentiful and free! Rooms are clean, and the poolside bar is a nice touch. Several shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Best hotel in the area!
