The best resort on the islands - and we’ve been to lots!

This resort blew us away. The restaurants and amenities are beyond our expectations. Their fancy restaurant Moamoa was excellent: super tasty, elevated, and amazing service (we love you, ART!). The grounds were lush, pristine, and had perfect spots for all of us to enjoy — kid and adult friendly pool, beach access, game room, exercise room, bikes and bike path, volleyball court, activities, coffee shop, on-site concierge and so much more. We will definitely come back another time. Too many wonderful things to do that we need more time.

    Great Time!

The stay was really great. The hotel has everything you need from a great view to great food. The staff was friendly upon check in. The POG welcome juice was refreshing and a nice touch. Dawn at the concierge desk was super sweet when handing us the leis. The room wasn’t ready yet when we arrived so we decided to chill by at the hotel bar and met the true gem of the hotel-Jeff. Jeff was super friendly and could tell my husband and I were a little freaked about the cloudy weather. Jeff was super awesome and told us about all the cool local spots to check out. Jeff has great recommendations for local restaurants and things to go around the island. Thanks for everything Jeff! The hotel is central to everything, making it a quick drive to either either side of the island. Overall really great experience!

    Best hospitality I've ever had

This place was truly amazing. The entire staff was amazing. As a coworker within Marriott hotels I even learned some things I could work on with myself. The Front desk and valet and bartenders were my favorites. I want specifically thank: James(valet) Dawn(valet/just amazing) Cedric (front desk) and Kyle (bartender). Thank you all for making our trip amazing. Come to Oahu and please come see me and my with at Turtle Bay! Aloha, Hunter and Melissa

A great resort with great amenities

We used Costco travel to book our trip to Kauai this spring. We got a good deal on 5 nights at the Sheraton in Kapa’a. The staff was very friendly. Our room was clean and we liked the wave graphic on the wall. We did the resort’s sunrise yoga which was so great on resort grounds in the grass by the ocean. We did lei making at the resort which was so fun to learn how to do. The hot tub jets were strong. There were tons of games to play on the lawn and a nice walking path. The lobby’s big aloha sign is a cool photo opportunity. The Moa Moa restaurant at the resort was PHENOMENAL.

Good base of operations for families.

We stayed here as part of our Delta Vacation getaway. I was a bit nervous because of mixed reviews, but I came to the conclusion that every review of Hawaii hotels is mixed. I suspect people expect more for the price. I like to use pros and cons in reviews but this is more suited to just staying factual. The price is comparable to other mid-range resorts in the area. The amenities are nice but not fancy. Good pool and hot tub that were often busy but not crowded. Same with the restaurants. There are three listed, but really only two. The Moa Moa is the nice one and serves breakfast, too, including a pricey but very good breakfast buffet. The other two, the Crooked Surf and Fire Hen are really the same, the first is the poolside bar and the second the "indoor" game room bar. It has pool tables, arcade games and an oversized, multi player foosball table. You get menus for both in those areas. Solid food for those wanting a break from the town. There is not much indoor space for rainy days, but there are daily activities such as lei-making and shave ice by the pool. The resort fee does include use of the bikes, so take advantage of the beautiful bike path behind the hotel. Go north (left as you look at the ocean). The rooms are newly renovated and very clean. We had a king, poolside on the third floor. Walk in shower. Fairly small room, with just enough space for two chairs and a small desk and chair. The lenai was very small. Two chairs, and a small round stand, but a bit of a Tetris game getting two people with two drinks on it. It looked like the ocean-view rooms might be bigger. There is great access to the beach, including lounge chairs, Adirondacks, and umbrellas, but the east side surf is pretty rough so use caution. This is definitely geared toward families. Lots of kids. They didn't enforce the pool hours, so most days there were loud kids in the pool by 7 a.m., sometimes as early as 6. The island pretty much shuts down at 9, and the resort bar closes at 10, so if you are the type who'd rather be drinking cocktails at midnight instead of listening to everyone getting up at 6, beware. Overall a good place to stay, particularly if you have kids.
