Good Stay--Not Great
The Pros: -Walkable Location: It is an easy, safe and fairly short walk to The Malecon with lots of shops, beach bars and restaurants. -Setting: The resort grounds are beautifully kept. -Pool & Pool Bar: Two pools--both very clean and warm. Pool bar makes great cocktails. -Room: Rooms are large, very clean and nicely appointed. Rain head shower is nice with good water pressure. In-room safe is easy to use, and we loved the robes. The view from our room was absolutely stunning--we saw whales from our room everyday! The Cons: -Front Desk: Like other reviews have stated, the front desk staff is NOT friendly or helpful. We felt cheated as we booked the "honeymoon special" through our travel agent--which included a king room, bottle of wine and other small upgrades. We were given NONE of these! We were told we could only have the room with 2 full beds because rooms with king beds were not clean. We kindly offered to wait for the room we had booked but were told it could be several hours or DAYS before the room we had booked was available. Consequently, we spent our 6 nights here squished into a full-size bed. -Food: The buffet was just blah. None of the food was very warm and the fruit looked like it had been sitting out for days. We ate at two of the specialty restaurants and the menu items available for the all-inclusive package was VERY limited. -The Beach: The beach is pretty....from your room! It is super rocky and not at all walkable. -TV in room was not able to get subtitles in English. Not really that big of a deal, but frustrating when we were there for a longer stay! Overall--the Sheraton is a good choice for it's walkability to The Malecon. It is also a good location because a cab to Old Town or the airport is only about 100 pesos ($5ish US). The rooms are comfy and well-appointed. I would recommend skipping the all-inclusive option because the food is just not worth it. It was nice not have a bar tab to settle up when we left, but that was the only benefit of the A.I. There are SO MANY amazing restaurants within very close walking distance and on the Malecon it would be better to save your money and eat there. We love PV and next time would probably stay a little further south at a Air BNB or boutique hotel. The Sheraton was ok, but we probably spent a little too much money on our stay there for what we got.

Do More Homework Before Choosing this Place
Pros : Close to the airport and within walking distance of Puerto Vallarta Malecon. Pools are HEATED - NICE ! Grounds were beautiful and well taken care of, Entertainment / Activities people seemed cool. The Bed was super comfy. Oliver at the Breakfast buffet AMAZING BUT Cons : no other connections with any other employees. Service everywhere super slow ( between the pool , bars and restaurants and it was DEAD, so WTH !!! ) Hot tub was basically no hotter then the pool and SO shallow. This time of year, maybe just the trip we experienced was an older, mellow crowd ( first time ever in Mexico we didn't make a connection with any employees or guests at a resort ) My husband enjoyed some of the food, I did not. Only breakfast option was buffet just FYI. It's just my opinion, I looked over all the reviews before choosing this place too. I just know I wouldn't come back.

Horrible front desk staff - condescending and dismissive
Unfortunately I have been waiting for management to do the right thing here and they have ultimately decided not to. The front desk staff is horrific at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center. They are condescending and arrogant. They repeatedly lied to me when I asked them about my free upgrade due to my status with Marriott Bonvoy. I was supposed to get a junior suite upgrade and they kept telling me I was already upgraded. Yes I was upgraded because I paid for the upgrade to the room I was in. I had to keep telling them I paid for my upgraded room on a high floor. Then they said all the junior suites were full, which was not true. I know a couple that was in one of them and moved to another one because they wanted a different view, and the one they vacated was empty the entire two weeks we were there. That was in addition to our room smelling overwhelming like mold. The beds are also old and soft and lumpy. Watch out if you have a bad back like I do. There is loud music all day, every day, at the pools. The service around the pools and on the beach is spotty at best. I will NOT be going back to this hotel ever again.
