Great hotel with a central location

My family of four styaed here on our weekend trip to Atlanta. We got a great AAA price and even added on the Sheraton Club Lounge for not too much extra, I very much suggest adding the Club Lounge! The attendants were very helpful in getting my family breakfast and snacks throughout our stay. The room and bathroom were both clean.

    Great Stay

We stayed here for only two nights, but we enjoyed it. The concierge lounge was a nice treat for us all. The rooms were spacious and clean. The pool looked pretty big and the staff was welcoming and kind.

    Needs a Facelift

The best part was being able to access the Sheraton Club Lounge. There's no liquor and the food wasn't as substantial as some lounges, but the host at night, Jazzy Jeffrey is excellent and the women who work their during the day are similarly delightful. We went every night and he was welcoming and courteous each time. During the day the staff was kind and helpful and accommodating. I grew up nearby and always wanted to stay here! It looked so grand and luxurious. In 2016 when I came for a conference I saw a hotel that was weathered, but still quite stately. Recently, during another conference I realized that the Sheraton is a shadow of its former self. The halls are heavily perfumed. The carpets are worn and dingy. It desperately needs an upgrade. The gift shop is under construction, but just looks a mess. It's a visible eyesore. Inexplicably the pool, located in a beautiful atrium, was closed shortly after our arrival. Which was a shame I brought my suit and my daughter's suit. The restaurant is good, but so desperately slow. Mostly the service was along a similar vein. I asked for things and never received them and/or had to go retrieve them myself. I think the hotel just needs a big facelift and maybe some new managers in a couple of areas to get things running efficiently. Good hotel. I'd stay again, but it's not as great as it could be and has been.

    Great service all around

From the minute you enter you receive a warm greeting and the receptionist answered all of my questions. The room was clean with a big TV. The dinner restaurant had happy, knowledgeable and polite servers and the food was excellent. The spareribs on my first night were off the chain and they certainly know how to fill you with thick potato wedges. The second night I had roast chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens. TASTE. Excellent taste for two straight nights. I loved the food. A great glass of red wine, meeting the supervisor or captain of this all-female team was also a highlight as she made her self known to all guests. My waitress with her beautiful smile and birthday crown added to the atmosphere. They all seemed to enjoy their job. Real southern hospitality. I would go back. Congrats to the chef. I'm tired of all of this fancy presentation and NO taste. The taste was there 100% and I will return. The open coffee area also gave excellent service and was very efficient. Overall I was pleased.
