Family Trip
Average hotel accommodations, friendly staff, had some great restaurants. Jerk chicken cart was really good! Water did go out one day in our building, good thing we had fishing trip planned.

Fantastic honeymoon
Hotel and staff were great! everyone was friendly, the grounds were clean, and entertainment was fantastic! Enjoyed hopping from beach to pool. The hotel itself is a little dated, as were the room’s finishings, but the 10/10 would recommend. A very peaceful getaway.

Disappointed and Underwhelmed Stay at Secrets St. James Montego Bay
I was truly disappointed with my recent stay at Secrets St. James Montego Bay. The experience started off poorly with an extended wait during check-in—several hours just to receive a room that, to my shock, had visible roaches. This was unacceptable for a resort that markets itself as luxury. Dining was another major disappointment. The hibachi restaurant, which we were most excited about, was fully booked a week in advance—something that was never communicated when we booked our stay. Most of the restaurants requiring reservations were unavailable, leaving us to settle for options with no reservation needed. We attempted to dine at Blue Mountain, one of the few restaurants that didn't require reservations, and that turned into another frustrating experience. We arrived at 7:15 p.m. and weren't seated until 9:28 p.m. Once we were finally seated, many food items were no longer available—no rice and peas, no salmon, and several other options were depleted. We were essentially left eating scraps, which is unacceptable after such a long wait. The food overall was mediocre, lacking the bold flavors you expect from authentic Jamaican cuisine. The rice and peas and jerk chicken were especially bland—far from the flavorful dishes the region is known for. Throughout the resort, staff appeared disorganized, and there was a noticeable lack of communication. Activities were boring and uninspired, leaving little to enjoy during downtime. Overall, this resort did not deliver on its promises and failed to meet even basic expectations for service, food, and hospitality. I would not recommend Secrets St. James Montego Bay and will not be returning.

Friends trip - great for adults only vacation
Overall great experience. Entertainment each night, nice club and access to food. I would like to have the buffet option nightly to receive faster service for dinner.

Return trip.
The preferred pool bar staff was amazing. Shashoni was our waitress for the week and she was amazing. Cruze was the bartender and his drinks were delicious! If you go to the preferred bar at Secrets St James, ask for the 2 of them. Definitely made our trip more enjoyable!
