    Best vacation in Mexico!

We just returned from our 9 days at Secrets Playa Blanca. We had the most incredible vacation of our lives! The hotel was absolutely magnificent. The food was outstanding. The property was clean new and outstanding! And we experienced the premiere club amenities for our fist time ( trust me it’s worth every extra penny) Let me first give a huge shout out to Angel he was our concierge at the pool. He made our whole stay so special. He made sure we always had perfect shade moving umbrellas and chairs. He brought cold towels. His smile and friendly presence was just the highlight of every day! He had great advice when we asked him about anything the hotel had to offer, as well as excursions, and local knowledge. Someone asked him as he was cleaning their sunglasses for them …. What exactly it was he did there? And my answer is what doesn’t he do here? He made every effort to make your day extraordinary. Thank you Angel for everything!!! Also our room butlers Gustavo and Durian went above and beyond. They were there every day helpful and kind. They got my husband pants when we realized he didn’t pack enough. They provided anything we needed and always with smiles and gratitude! Will be back soon!

A Magical Experience at Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres!

We just returned from an unforgettable stay at Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres, and I can’t say enough about how truly exceptional the entire experience was. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the resort’s beauty, the incredible food and drinks, and—most of all—the amazing staff who made us feel like royalty. The resort itself is stunning—lush, modern, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed. Every corner felt like it was straight out of a dream. The food? Delicious. Every meal was a treat, and the drinks were top-shelf across the board—crafted with premium ingredients and always served with a smile. But what really sets Secrets Playa Blanca apart is the staff. It honestly felt like every employee knew our names by the second day—and they greeted us like old friends every time we passed by. A few standouts who deserve serious praise: Belen, our butler, was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond for even the smallest of requests. She made everything seamless and easy. Michael, the pool concierge—honestly, I didn’t even know “pool concierge” was a thing, but now I don’t want to vacation without one. He kept our sunglasses clean, brought us floats, found us chairs when we were late to the pool, and was genuinely one of the kindest, most down-to-earth people we met. Edgar at Seaside for breakfast and lunch was phenomenal. He had an uncanny ability to bring us exactly what we didn’t know we wanted. Every recommendation was a hit—he just gets it. Ivan, who we saw both at the Preferred Club bar and the pool bar, had a smile that lit up the resort—and his drinks were as delightful as his personality. Javier at the Preferred Bar in the evenings? An artist. The flavors, the creativity, the presentation—truly unforgettable. If I ever hear that he’s moved to another resort, I might just book a trip there for him alone! At the jungle pool, we were lucky to be taken care of by George (pool concierge), Daniel (bartender/waiter), and Fernando (in training). They were all fabulous, but Daniel stood out for never letting a drink go empty. Seriously—he was always one step ahead! This resort is perfect for a honeymoon, romantic getaway, or destination wedding. The vibe is upscale yet welcoming, and every detail is designed to make you feel special. We’re already dreaming of our return. Secrets Playa Blanca—thank you for an unforgettable escape. You’ve set a new standard for luxury and hospitality. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    15th wedding anniversary trip!

Traveled early July for our 15th wedding anniversary and had a lovely trip. Staff: Gustavo and Duran were our Bldg 3 butlers and they deserve employees of the month!! They went ABOVE and beyond multiple times. Fanny took amazing care of our room. Javier at the preferred bar was an amazing mixologist. Daniel at the bali beds was a very attentive server! Maria Fernanda Rodríguez did a fabulous job communicating with us prior to the trip and I know she was one of the reasons we had such a great anniversary. Gustavo and Duran too, they did a fabulous job decorating our room. Everyone we encountered was pleasant. Esthetics: the resort is gorgeous. The view when you arrive is what sold us on this resort! Loved the firepits. Jungle feel but not so lush you can still see the ocean! And it was easier to navigate vs Akumal. It was also very clean. Never even saw an ant or mosquito! Food: El Patio was our favorite. All the food we tried was good. Nothing outstanding but we enjoyed it. The later you eat the longer you wait but they have a buzzer system so that's a plus! Pool side food definitely needs some improvement. Not a big variety and took FOREVER. Missed the quality and speed of service we had at Akumal. Men are required to wear pants in order to dine inside. Not a deal breaker but definitely not ideal in summer months. I'm all for a dress code but men can wear nice dressy shorts with a nice shirt and closed toed shoes. Drinks: huge variety. Lots of daily specials offered. Didn't seem watered down. Wish they had more beer selection. Pacifico or Modelo would have been nice vs Coors Light Preferred Club: Loved all the open air seating. Drinks were great. Snacks were mediocre at best. And they sat out all day. Pools: The pool water was incredibly warm. Like bath water warm. I know we traveled in warm summer season but we always have and never have experienced such warm water. Lots of guests commenting on it. Chairs: Ugh the dreaded chair game was unreal. Most all chairs were claimed by 8am with less than half that many people in the pools or chairs. Never attempted a chair at the infinity pool, those went fast. Resort claims to not allow chair saving but never saw it enforced. Pool staff did their best to try and find chairs. They would put chairs in the area designated for the pool stairs for people to get in and out of. It was incredibly awkward to basically crawl around a person laying on their lounger if you wanted to use the pool stairs. Bali beds are definitely worth it. It was the one day we didn't feel like we had to get uo early and rush to get a seat. Wish there were one or two at the preferred pool. Room: we had PC ocean view and it was stunning. Temp didn't get as cold as we preferred but it wasn't damp. There is a ceiling fan but oddly it's over the sitting area, not the bed. The king room has ZERO privacy. Why not frost the shower glass too or block the slats on the door like the queen rooms? Variety of bars available. Desires was air conditioned and that was nice. Rendezvous had entertainment each night and looks beautiful. It would be nice if they could add fans for air movement. Sugar reef has fans but we were told they don't work. Beach bars are awkward. They're up so high. The swings awkward level out so your forehead level with the bar top. But if they raise the swings you cannot get on. Beach was nice while we were there. Minimal sargassum. Waves were a bit stronger. Love that they have a walkway the entire way. Plenty of towels available. Overall we had a nice stay. We would definitely recommend checking it out!
