    Lovely location

We stayed here for two weeks over Christmas and found that most of the reviews that we read were accurate. We were in room 308 which was a "quiet room " however, at times the music from the pool area was all we could hear. The pool area as stated elsewhere is impossible to get a lounger if you decide to go in the middle of the day, same as the quieter pool. The food was generally very nice and the restaurants are each worth a visit. The hotels is set in the countryside and one of the purposes of our holiday was bird watching, sitting on the balcony each morning from dawn until breakfast I saw 80 different species of bird including some that I didn't see anywhere else on my trip. As written elsewhere, there is a steep walk back to some rooms and in the midday sun we were glad of the shuttle service. This is a personal preference but I felt that the hotel really lacked an indoor lounge bar, somewhere to go in the evening and relax with a drink without overly loud music and getting bitten by insects. The beach was nice but doesn't have many places to sit (maybe six loungers) and was empty most of the time. Careful of the little jellyfish! This was a great hotel for nature and as a base but I think I'd try elsewhere next time I go.

    Great Resort

Secrets Costa Rica: Very nice resort. The staff treated you like a king. Restaurants were excellent. The weather was perfect, sunny and 90 degrees every day. We went Jan 25 to Feb 2 2025 but make sure you go in the dry season. January through April is best. The beach is a black sand beach. Fun to walk but not a great beach but my wife loved it being different. Lots of crabs at night. Bring a good flashlight but watch out stepping on them. The 400 series rooms are on a hill, have nice views but probably need shuttle to the pools and main area. The 300 series is quieter and easier to walk to the main area. 200 series closest to main area but don't stay in room 215 traffic at the intersection. Coco Cafe makes custom smoothies with real fruit, coffee, cappuccino, etc. We visited it every day. They have double and king bed rooms. Get a king bed if you prefer one large bed. Overall we loved Costa Rica, it is beautiful, safe and a return visit is highly recommended.

A VERY relaxing trip, but I think I gained 10 lbs..

The resort was fantastic and it was a relaxing trip. The food was INCREDIBLE and we are now locked in as HYATT Inclusive customers after this experience which was our first work an all inclusive resort! The spa at this facility is quite dated, but the massage itself was great. We were in bungalow 124 & the location was perfect - a VERY short walk to the pool, beach, and restaurants & a great view, tucked away so minimal foot traffic, and quiet, but close to everything with one steep hill and a short staircase to the room.
