They conduct a lot of weddings. When a wedding happens they shut down the spa area pool where you are relaxing in peace and quiet. You get moved and therefore feel like a second class citizen. Complaining to management doesn’t help. I was told the manager was going to come to my room to discuss and they never did. Only got a call from the concierge. On check out I mentioned this again and was told they’d follow it up and let me know. Nothing!

Rated 1 This place sucks Waiting 40mins for a shuttle back to our room. Bar staff who argue with you. Food is very standard but costs a fortune. Drinks are rubbish. Poor attitude - we will serve you when we’re ready, esp. Esteban. No one answers the phone. $46 per hour for extension!!

We are still @ Secrets Papagayo. We have been here for 11 days & are loving every minute! The hotel is set in lush grounds, the pools are never too busy with plenty of sun-beds. There are no queues @ the restaurants - our favourite is the Japanese! Sometimes the food @ the buffet can be mediocre. The lunch time barefoot grill is awesome; especially the pizzas! The drinks & cocktails are yummy, the staff are all exceptional. The evening entertainment is spectacular. Everyone works very hard to ensure you have a fabulous time! We booked tours with Frank the Tank on the internet, I can highly recommend the adrenaline combo & rain forest tours! Book now!

Secrets Papagayo - This Holiday Will Be Hard To Beat. We Will Return!
Beautiful hotel with picturesque surroundings. The staff are all A* and the attentiveness and helpfulness is evident throughout the stay. cleanliness and standard very good. Everyone we encountered was friendly and professional and ensured we were always catered for and having the best time. I highly recommend the hotel for it's beauty and for the great facilities, made all the more enjoyable due to the staff. In particular, Annabelle and the lady who greets you at the Marketplace Buffet Restaurant. Jerick, Maryaam, Edward and the rest of the Entertainment Team. But in particular Giovanni - he is the star of the show. In his own words "he's a professional!"

I wasn’t sure what to expect since I had read mixed reviews. This resort exceeded my expectations in every category. The customer service was an A+! Every employee I came in contact with was kind and helpful. They seem to enjoy working at Secret’s. We loved Christian, our bartender at the pool bar on the quiet side. He made us feel special everyday, and took great care of us. I consider myself a foodie, and I didn’t expect the food to be as good as it was. We enjoyed every meal we had. There was always activities to participate in if we chose to, and the nightly entertainment was always enjoyable. Our room was clean and housekeeping kept it nice for us our entire stay. We have told all our family about this wonderful resort and we can’t wait to come back.
