Apr 24, 2025Not as good as the first time
2nd visit to this resort, last visit was 2023. While we had an enjoyable vacation, we were surprised on some changes that seem to have taken place. Lack of sun umbrella at the lagoon and on the beach, lack of staff at the lagoon and beach. Lagoon bar closed, causing delays getting drinks. Bamboo, Suki, Dol Almos were really good restaurants as was the morning buffet. Italian was ok, didn't visit french. Service elevator was down, so they were using the guest elevator, no issue there but when it arrives at your floor, they also wouldn't come out to give it to the guest, you just had to wait (there are only 2 elevators, 1 service, 1 guest). Tv issues 3 times, overly scented rooms, even the toilet paper was scented, same in the gym area. Upon checkout, not even asked how our stay was. Again, we still had a good time but temper expectations.

Just wow! My husband and I booked Secrets Moxche for our honeymoon and stayed for a full week. This resort is by far the BEST resort we have ever stayed at. Moxche deserves the diamond label. The restaurants were incredible, Mexican and Italian were our favorites. The cafe buffet for breakfast/lunch was always stacked with so many delicious options! They also cater heavily to those with food allergies and are very cognizant of restrictions. Drinks were always phenomenal. The pools were so beautiful and clean - there were main pools, a beach pool, and small "cenote" style pools for a more relaxing experience. However, our favorite part of staying at this resort was the hospitality and kindness from ALL the staff. Waiters, concierge staff, bartenders, were all so kind. This hotel has an Entertainment Team that is responsible for hosting many different events throughout the days including, beach/pool volleyball, pool blackjack, nightly shows in the theater, etc. My husband and I are very social and we connected deeply with all the members of this team who engaged us in so many exciting activities. They would check in on us multiple times a day by the pool - they even made us bracelets one day. We want to list their names to ensure they are applauded for their hard work and humility: Sergio, Aranza, Jessica, Miguel, Julio, Jose, Felix, Monica, Gabriella, Regina, Daniela, Uriel, Rodolfo, Oscar, Christian, and Jasmine. We shared so many laughs and felt that because of their genuine engagement, our time here was enhanced! We noticed a few one star reviews and were just dumbfounded because this is NOT a one star resort. There was just so much to offer - nightly live music, dancing at the speakeasy, beach walking, BEAUTIFUL rooms with fully stocked fridges and bathrooms, and modern decor that fuels the ambience. We will absolutely be coming back!

Good stay, but not as great as the first time
First off, the resort grounds are beautiful - clean, modern, well maintained and laid out. The grounds are gorgeous and gardeners work hard to keep it looking lovely. Honestly all the staff are all excellent! Every single person was kind and genuinely helpful. They work hard and go above and beyond - thank you! We were here in June 2022 and really loved the food during that visit. Overall, we do still give the food a good review but last time the resort wasn’t as busy. The quality and variety are still good. Thanks to staff - Isaac & Eduardo, (Seasoul), Melissa (Bamboo) and Demetrio (Dos Almas). But honestly all the service we had was excellent - I just can’t remember everyone’s name! Omg the french toast at Seasoul for breakfast! So amazing and I would go to Moxche just for that! I do want to say that the productions the staff put together for the events like Roads Through Mexico and Asado are so impressive and appreciated. Wow! They really go all out. This time the resort was at full capacity and there were large groups. Made the resort feel a bit more of a party place, which we have no interest in. I don’t mind waiting for dinner, you just grab a drink and they give you a buzzer. What we didn’t expect were the crowds of people everywhere! I know this is the luck of the draw and likely due to the time of the year. 2 large companies and March break :( The gym in the morning was crazy busy, so we went midday. Peloton users - there are 2 bikes for use! Yay! The pedals have been changed so not sure if they are compatible with the cleats. Looked different to me. I didn’t read the pelos were there in any reviews, I would have brought my shoes. I hope this helps the pelo fam :) You can still find some quiet nooks here and there but at times, it felt like a cruise ship vibe - not why we chose Secrets. We like the smaller intimate, quiet type of place. I feel like the resorts have unfortunately, gotten busier and with more of a commercial feel (e.g., upselling options). We been going since 2007 and only to Secrets but have noticed some changes the last few trips. But as the saying goes, nothing gold can stay! It is still a great choice, but perhaps not the “only” choice. Although the pool and beach concierge guys are great (thanks Jaime and Jacobo), it wasn’t always easy to find a chair with shade. Once we got one, we didn’t want to lose our spot so it made it difficult to move around from beach to pool and back. So we stayed put for most of the day. In 2022 we easily moved around from pool to pool and beach. Again, it was June. I wonder if more chairs could be added to the relax area pool? And more umbrellas! Beach has eroded from our last visit and there are large sandbags. This is a disappointment. I know this is out of the resort’s control. The staff work really hard to keep it clean and do a great job. But if you’re a beach person, you might want to look into other Secrets. Maroma, Mujeres and Akumal had great beaches, not sure if they’ve also changed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but it wasn’t as great as our first time. Again, I think it was the time of year. If you are younger, with a group of people and looking for a lively place, this might be the right place for you.

Perfect! Amazing. Daniela was amazing! Our company had so much fun. Food beach pool, everything. Our entire company will come back. Still trying to reach 200 characters so this will post. Xxxxxxxxxszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz so hype you need to come.

Wonderful rooms, lots of pools to choose from to spend time in, amazing food, and great customer service. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Special shoutout to Omar in the Preferred club. He was really on top of things and made sure we had access to extra activities.
