    Wouldn't stay again if it was free.

    Space to write is not sufficient to describe everything that went wrong: though I'll attempt it. For starters we were in the area because my wife required treatment at the Mayo clinic. Being immunocompromised she had very specific needs. We called several days in advance, discussed all this and asked if these things could be accomplished. We were told, "no problem, we can do all of that and will make sure it's taken care of before you arrive." This included a room that had been thoroughly cleaned and no one to have stayed in it the night before. When we arrived no one had a clue what we were talking about. No special room, no special cleaning and NONE of the other things we requested. They looked at me like I was a cyclops or something. I voiced my displeasure, but took the room because at that late a time I didn't know what else to do. We then drove to our room which required going through a gate which was supposed to open with our room card, however, this didn't work and required pressing a button and waiting for someone to open it. We pulled up to the building we were to stay in and found a dated building with black spots scattered at random upon the walls, and the parking lot lined with pretty trees that dropped thick brown droplets all over my car, which left brown stains, like an unsightly skin condition all over my white vehicle. We entered the room and found worn furniture which, though probably nice in its time, was well past its prime. As soon as going in we started cleaning thoroughly, pursuant to my wife's needs and quickly found areas that left black and brown smudges all over our cleaning rags. As we began to unpack our food items, since it was during the covid-19 threat we had brought our own, we found the freezer or the frig so tiny it would only hold an ice tray. During our stay we confined ourselves to our room, 5 days, 4 nights, except for our trips to the Mayo clinic. During this time we requested no housekeeping so as to preclude interaction with as many people as possible. This is important because of what I'm about to say. When it was time to check out I called the desk and told them we were unhappy with the way things had turned out, that the coronavirus and social distancing had prevented us, as well as everyone for that matter, from openly partaking of the resorts amenities and we had provided our own housekeeping every day. Oh: by the way, the AAA rate is cheaper than their "Mayo Clinic" rate!! Really! People with a serious medical need that requires traveling a long distance and major inconvenience in their life don't get as good a break as a AAA guest? COME ON!! Anyway, in checking out I asked for the manager and asked for at least the resort fee of $27 a night, be removed from our bill. He wouldn't budge. He said we had already had "parking charges" of $17 a night removed. Remember, I had to drive myself a quarter of a mile and park my car under a nasty brown ooze spitting tree. I thought, "if I had to pay for that I might have had a melt down." I never knew there was a question of paying for parking in the first place. Anyway, he wouldn't removed the resort fee and ended by saying, "Thanks for staying at Marriott and please come stay with us again." Yeah dude, I'll do that! When every hotel chain in the world closes and I am no longer in possession of any of my senses.

    Birthday

    Stunning. This place is absolutely beautiful. By far my best birthday celebration! Everyone is pleasant and delightful. Extremely clean, every inch of this facility is clean and well maintained. The grounds are well manicured. They definitely dot their i's and cross their t's.

    Good visit

    Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was hospitable and friendly. Starbucks crew was great and funny. Gym was clean and updated. Property is unique and big. Will recommend to visitors coming to visit.

    VILLAS A FLORIDA TREAT ZBUT A LITTLE TIRED

    We stayed the weekend at a non golf event. Lodging was in the Marriott VILLAS and not the main hotel. This is a signature property in a signature setting and showcase for professional golf. What it is surprisingly not is a showcase is the interior of the Villas. Located a crisp10 minute walk from the main hotel, the Villas are loctated near one of the inlets off the fabled golf couse. Each has a private back porch with chairs and tables. The entertainment is provided by North Florida's bes: Eagles, Hawks, buntings, squirrels, blue herons, ducks, geese that wander bye or fly up to their nests in the Florida pines. You cannot beat this. It is terrific. In late winter, just prior to the big tournament, it was a circus of the birds and animals awaiting the golfers and their entorage. The Villa interior, however, is reminiscent of th1950s. The aged furniture belongs in the Smithsonian. Decor and accessories are singularly uninteresting . The kitchen (fridge/microwave) is sufficient and utilitarian. The bedroom nothing special. We've enjoyed beds in other similar Marriott properties that were significantlybetter. The bathroom, too, is utilitarian with a glass shower and sizable double sink. Our particular toilet seat was incabable of staying in the "up" position. There is plenty of closet space. The A/C heat worked perfectly. Parking for the villas is just outside each unit, for a nightly fee of $17. The Villa we used was clean, and well situated to scoot out of the Marriott property to the car to nearby restaurants and shoppes just up the street in Ponte Vedra Beach, or a gentle walk among the stunning landscape to the main the hotel itself.

    Beautiful venue for a wedding

    We stayed a Sawgrass Marriott for a wedding. The hotel was a "solid Marriott" experience, very clean and comfortable. The complex and grounds were beautiful and the staff was welcoming. The banquet staff was very helpful with my dietary requests; everyone was courteous and helpful. We anticipated that it would be a very nice experience and it was.
