Nice easy getaway
My husband and I visited this resort for four nights in early February. We enjoyed our stay mostly because of the value and quality of beachfront. Being a smaller resort the beachfront was less busy than the surrounding properties. The beach beds and pillows combo’d with excellent service from Mario made the vacay what it was. While walking up and down the beach and talking with others staying close by it seems that we had the least crowded beachfront and best beach beds. The pools were also pretty cool! Mario provided superior service while we were on the beach beds bringing food and drinks; never letting our drinks go empty. Other pluses were the spa- I can’t remember the name of my massage therapist but he was great!! I got the signature massage and it was one of the beat I’ve had. And the room was very comfortable for us. Especially the bed. Also the room service breakfast burrito was probably the best thing I ate there. It was very good! The rest of the food, not so much. We did like the Japanese restaurant for food and entertainment and there were some other items at the restaurants that were OK but not great and unfortunately the buffet was horrible for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overall we would stay again if we got another good deal but we would just know to eat more room service food and eat at the Japanese restaurant more often.
My 60th Birthday 🎂
So this was a big deal for me : my big 60 & wanted to make it affordable for all my friends & family joining me ... so long of the short . By day 3 I was getting a bit perturbed and quite frankly disappointed with the lack of service in some area with the food not being at a five-star level , things are just brought dropped off no attention was paid to the quality of the food no attention is paid to the fact 90% of the time it was serve cold it wasn’t done the way you even ordered it so I was having a bit of a meltdown . They always seemed in a hurry to get you in and out .... the best and only Restaurant I can say was the Japanese the food was hot the service and the entertainment was amazing however it’s not at the antique Japanese it’s basically a stir fry. That being said we ended up having meals off resort which you really shouldn’t when you pay what you paid to come to a five star which by no means was ... after voicing my concerns to the general manager David Hernandez Garcia who I have to admit that was beyond more than accommodating he understood my concerns listen to what I had to say and took it to heart after that brief encounter with him things improved exceptionally my room was amazing I was upgraded to a suite spectacular views and the resort is extremely clean and the staff seem to finally got it together and were pleasant accommodating and more than eager to serve you and take care of your needs this was true with a number of the stuff Ana who did an amazing job and getting us settled and making sure that we were all quite happy . pool water amazing and so fun .OCTAVIO FR DESK amazing and jOSUE bellboy.so helpful and took care of me . The two Brothers who are both waiters on the beach area Rafael and Christian are absolutely amazing never seen two guys pull it together work as hard as they do in the blistering heat and make you feel that it’s no sweat at all incredible our pool waiter Guar was friendly and spectacular as well and then we come To Ivon the activity coordinator and director for a lot of the functions that happened in around the pool area this kid was amazing so fun made you feel and laugh like he’s been part of your family forever he was exceptional at his job and he loved meeting new people and he loved doing his job and making you feel happy and satisfied with your experience amazing guy And ALL at the Front desk was incredibly professional very accommodating and took your concerns to heart was professionally and proficient with check in and check out Experience brilliant👍👍👍😎😎😎 all in all through the little hiccoughs it was an amazing stage I do hope they rectify some of these situations and that concerns the pools really need to be heated and it could stand a little bit of an update in 2020 it is dated ......... but apparently they are working on updating and renovating the common areas to make it more modern and bring it into 2020.was good after all ,just not a 5star.... 2 1/2 star. happy travels friends.
I went here with my husband and 6 month old. The property is gorgeous and intimate. Small but amazing food, one of the best I've had in my several trips to Cancun, and the beach was a blast! I couldn't give enough shout outs to Mario. He was our waiter at the pool, learned our orders, and checked up on us so often. He truly made our vacation one of a kind.
Our Visit to Sandos Cancun February 26- March 4
I started this review upon my return to Cleveland but for whatever reason it didn't save. Here we go again! My husband and I have visited Cancun since 1996. After many experiences we have made Sandos our "2nd home" for many reasons. Relaxation, friendliness, room accommodations, food quality, fitness center, cleanliness and entertainment. From our first trip to our most recent we have never been disappointed. They go out of their way to ensure your vacation is perfect. I know you will find negative reviews. That is with everything. I was nervous booking my initial visit a few years ago because of that. However I quickly learned that like much in life you will have those that will find problems with the most perfect things. Upon arrival Eric (Bellman) greeted us and took very good care of our luggage and looked after us throughout our trip. Yelena (front desk) greeted us with a bright smile and assured our visit would be wonderful. She was right! Our waiter the first night and many nights after was Daniel who was more attentive than many 5* restautants we go to locally. Our lunches were primarily serviced by Kikke who also was overly attentive. All meals were top notch and creative which Fabricio should be very pround of. Many options for every pallet. Let's be honest, when on vacation you need a good barteneder that can make really good drinks. Sergio never let us down! If you are looking for a fabulous spa experience this is the place to be. Unbelievable hydro experience and messages! Thank you Martina for your wonderful staff and spa experience. The GM, David should be very proud of the staff and enviroment he has created. They all make you feel at home. This is not a party resort. And it shouldn't be. It is a boutique elegant resort. Yes you have fun, entertainment and memories but not a wild party which we really appreciate. Looking forward to our next vacation!
DO NOT BOOK - TERRIBLE FOOD & DRINKS
I visited Sandos in early 2020 and have no idea where these positive reviews came from. I don't know if management or ownership changed, but the only positive or even consistent aspect of my stay were Bernie and the Japanese restaurant. Pros: - Bernie & Josue - Japanese dinner restaurant, which was delicious - Food at the lunch place by the pool Cons: - All other dinner restaurants were inedible. I've never sent food back in my life until visiting this 'resort'. Steak and Italian restaurants were horrible and often had food mislabeled. For example, the same mediocre cream puffs offered in a buffet were on the menu at the Italian restaurant as 'beignets.' - Drinks were terrible. They use very low quality alcohol that you can still taste despite them serving weak drinks. They also cannot make decent margaritas - the one base requirement for a hotel in Mexico. Had to switch to wine and beer because the quality- of the mixed drinks was almost offensive. - Hotel seemed to be falling apart (numerous areas where there were water stains on the ceiling) - If you receive a room on a lower floor, you can hear the very loud generator from the hotel next door at all hours of the night. (Not the hotel's fault, but request a room on a high floor.) - A member of the staff told me she was sick, continued to cough while standing close to guests, then went on to do a food demonstration. I would normally not leave a negative review, but there were too many negative aspects of my trip to ignore.
