    Outstanding Stay

    5th time staying here and can’t wait to return. Wonderful location, great pool area and very friendly staff. Rented a cabana and had the couples massage at their spa. Both very nice experiences. Many restaurant options right out the front door. Highly recommend.

    Very pricey for what you get

    The hotel is dated. We had 2 days in seven where the towels were not replaced and so we had to approach a housekeeper on the hall. The 2nd time we called and I found that they weren’t very nice on the phone. Would choose another hotel in the future.

    Bad service at front desk

    I have been coming to this hotel since I was young with my family. We will be switching hotels from now on. Evelyn from the front desk could not have been more rude to our family by the way — 6 rooms here this visit. Not worth it to be treated this way.

    Great location, too many issues with hotel

    The resort is on a beautiful beach in a nice area. Rooms are average. The hotel was difficult to deal with and it felt like we were dealing with one issue after another rather than enjoying the paradise of San Juan. We will be back to Puerto Rico but not this hotel.

    Christmas Break With Kids- Fun in the sun!

    Stayed at the San Juan Marriott for 8 nights after Christmas- so many positives. Traveling with two children, and every day was filled with activities for them. There was also yoga every morning, stretching , water aerobics for the adults which my kids also participated in. Any resort that offers activities for kids so the parents can relax for a little is definitely a plus. The staff that ran the activities were so great! ( cookie decorating, sand art, beach races, sandcastle building, volleyball, foam fun) Events at night, movies and story time! The pools were very nice and clean. Shallow zero entry pool up top and deeper pool with bar below. There’s an amazing waterslide that kept them busy for hours. Service was great food was OK. Beach was lovely currents in the water are definitely strong, but the water is swimmable. Hotel offers so many food options from pizzeria to sushi food ( which was delicious ) beautiful lobby to eat and hang out in- live music/DJ some nights and restaurant on the beach ( breakfast kids under 12 eat buffet free +) and poolside service. Lots of food options to walk to no cab needed. Our room was perfect. If you can request a high floor, the views are great. There are poolside cabana rooms which we considered originally, but I personally felt better on a high floor with the view. A lot of security in the pool area to prevent people who don’t belong at the pool to be there. Initially, it felt annoying, but I appreciated it by the time we left. Reserving a chair at the pool is the same situation I encounter at any resort in the Caribbean so to bash San Juan over this is not fair. If you get up early and reserve your seats you need to show up by 9 AM. Otherwise they start to sticker the chairs if you’re not there. Which is fair. They have a nice gym which we took advantage of every day. Sunny and 80 everyday- culture and family memories- it was a great stay. Great option with families with children.
