Oct 13, 2024Fantastic Four Night Birthday Celebration at San Diego Mission Bay Resort
We spent four wonderful nights at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort celebrating a special birthday. Our Studio King room was recently renovated. It was the largest room we've ever seen in a hotel that was not a suite. It had a huge flat screen TV and a full living room area with seating for 10 people. The bedding was heavenly. Our room was cleaned every day without the need for request, but we would have requested regardless in support of union hotel workers. The grounds are vast and exquisite. We walked the wide sidewalk around the cove every morning. The pool area is very large and there were always available towels and lounge chairs even though the hotel was fully booked. We rented 2 cabanas and a daybed and lunched around the pool. There are many activities for families with children The Resort offered ping pong and foose ball poolside, and cornhole in many locations. The fitness center is fabulous. The resort has tennis courts and 8 pickleball courts. There is live music every night; smores on the beach and fire pits and heaters everywhere. Finally- the food was fantastic. We had Mission Joe's coffee and croissants, muffins, fruit and healthy yogurts and juices every morning. There is a poolside restaurant and a bar restaurant with outdoor seating that has a happy hour every afternoon. Don't miss the Bavarian Pretzel Fondue. The Covewood Restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We had dinner for 8 in a romantic setting by a gorgeous fireplace. It was one of the best meals we ever had. All the staff is friendly and helpful Special thank you to Katie Blackburn, the extraordinary concierge who helped us choreograph every step of the fantastic four day birthday weekend.

Morning Sunshine at Mission Joe
Best way to start the day with Marina, Mimi and Dren at Mission Joe! These staff at the coffee shop were all really personable, helpful and all with big smiles. It really makes a difference to start the day on an upbeat note. Of course coffee helps too :-) THe breakfast sandwich and pastry option, as well as cereals and breakfast bars, offer plenty of options for a quick bite.

Dinner at Covewood
We had a great experience at this resort. The service and amenities were wonderful. One night we had dinner in Covewood Restaurant and enjoyed it very much. Our servers Miguel A. & Jonathan A. were excellent and made the whole evening very special. We enjoyed our dinner and the evening very much!

Relaxed vibes at Mission Bay Resort
Came for a conference. Cool location for visiting the San Diego area. Mission beach boardwalk is close by. Downtown, Balboa Park and Coronado to the south and Pacific Beach, La Jolla and Torrey Pines to the North. Relaxed vibes at the resort. Received particularly great service at the bar from Chris M.

Wonderful Place to Stay with Exceptional Service from Katie at the Concierge
My 3 year old daughter and I stayed at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort for a mother/daughter trip visiting from Colorado. We had an amazing time and were very pleased with the accommodations. We loved the kiddie pool and played the poolside ping pong and Jenga. Our room was spotless and we had a beautiful view of the Bay. The location is excellent. Very close to the airport and we were less than 10 minutes to La Jolla where we frequented the best breakfast spot, ShoreHouse Kitchen. There was one person in particular that made our stay spectacular. Katie, the hotel concierge, went above and beyond. We visited her all 3 days of our stay. She is such a bright light and had so many wonderful activity and local food recommendations. What started as a visit to her desk to get some Halloween candy ended as a new friend that was the highlight of the trip for my daughter. Following the Best of the Bay tour that Katie booked for us, my daughter insisted that we stop by Katie’s desk to share some of the Ghirardelli chocolate that we picked up. Katie is the best and we will certainly be back!
