We stayed here for our honeymoon in October. It was incredible!! The staff was so friendly! The resort itself was beautiful, clean, and the perfect size. We stayed during a great time of year- not too many people and few kiddos. The food was so good too! The resort has a lot of fun activities- yes, even adults can enjoy the giant water slide!! The staff surprised us by upgrading our room and sending champaine and chocolate covered strawberries when we arrived. I am already planning when we can go back!
Valentines Weekend 2020
Amazing resort with great staff and service. Sade was our customer service rep and she helped us with a minor room issue (thank you Sade!!!). This place has everything you need, great customer service, CLEAN, amazing sunset views, loads of great places to eat (walking distance), great "on premise" restaurants, nearby beach bars with live music and lots of beautiful beaches to take long walks on. Just an all around great experience that we wont forget soon....we WILL be back.
I loved St Pete Beach!
I absolutely loved spending time at St Pete and Rumfish was nice. They upgraded our rooms to a Gulf view which was my favorite thing about this resort. Out my front door was the adult pool and out the patio door was the other pool, bar and the Gulf! The staff was exceptionally nice. I also appreciated having an adult pool area to get a way from the little ones. Don’t get me wrong, I love kids, just not this trip. We did travel to the sister resort(Island Grand)for meals and massages...this place had way more to offer, but a lot more families. I think my only complaint about Rumfish is I wish they did have more meal options, that the Pizza Hut would deliver to guests staying here and that we had live music during the day and longer at night. The Island Grand has all of this, so why not Rumfish? It isn’t a long walk to get to the other resort, but wish Rumfish has just a few more things to offer for the price we pay in resort fees. Otherwise, I loved it!
Great amenities for the family. Right on the beach, the daily resort fee ($$$$) includes cabanas on the beach and you can utilize everything at the Tradewinds. I could not give this a 5 star because I had a really crappy room and felt like I could have found the same room in the same area for $100 less. I requested a balcony room and instead got stuck in a room in between 2 hallways, next to electrical room and directly across from elevator. It was very noisy! The bathroom had mold in the tile grout and the corners had a lot of dirt built up. I did notify managment but nothing was done. I have stayed and the Tradewinds several times and was in total bliss but I am truly dissapointed I chose the Rum Fish this trip.
Great Family Resort!
Our family had a great stay at Rumfish, our kids are 5, 9, and 12. This resort allows you to utilize all the amenities at the Tradewinds resort which is just a short walk down the beach including the large inflatable slide that our kids really enjoyed. The Rumfish beach is a little quieter than the Tradewinds one as well and the rooms are little less expensive. I really recommend taking part in the various activities the resort offers. Our family tried to do as many of these as possible and it really added to our trip experience. Sophie goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to help the kids participate and keeps them engaged, even offers prizes if you do a good job :) THANKS SOPHIE!!! We participated in beach cleanup, scavenger hunts, touch tank, and the Rumfish Restaurant Tank Tour to name a few. There are also s'mores nights every night at Rumfish and if you go over to Tradewinds they have movie nights in the pool, a Pirate show, and paddle boats to use. At one point in the trip our room key lock had stopped working due to bad batteries and the security staff was there in just a couple minutes to swap them out quick and minimize the inconvenience. We also learned that people will often leave behind beach toys before traveling home and found a couple boogie boards, sand castle shovels and buckets, and a small net for trying to catch minnows swimming in the ocean. Next trip down I would bring a couple fishing poles for sure. We also took a short walk down the beach and saw dolphins which the kids though was super cool. You can reserve a cabana via a website the day before, they are free from 2nd row back so pick your favorite and make sure to reserve it right away especially if its during a busy time for the resort.
