Wedding Celebrations and 25+ guests
We were thrilled to make the right decision for our big day! A destination wedding can be stressful and more when you're selecting a resort. We are thankful that we choose the right place with the best staff. Royalton Punta Cana will always have a special place in our hearts, not only for hosting our wedding but also playing host with us to our guests. Not everything was perfect but even with very minor hiccups they were always willing to accommodate us providing reasonable solutions for us and our guests. The whole resort is spotless and the pictures that you see on their site match accurately to the facilities and ground. We cannot reiterate enough how polite and attentive the staff was through our stay (14 days) with us and our 28 guests. Special thanks to: Thalia, Domingo, Charlis, Wilkin, Marte & Lenin. Only con was the hard push for having everyone attend one of the timeshare presentations. It was a lot of persistence that made some of our guests uncomfortable because they really were not interested.
Lovely hotel just a few niggles
Stayed here as a family of 4 in November, impressive upon arrival although check in was a little slow, arrived late and was allocated a room unfortunately it hadn't been cleaned properly and there was no towels or drink making facilities, called up and this was resolved fairly quickly, next morning realised that the room was on the service road with no sun on the balcony so I requested to change rooms, this was granted and we were moved into another block, much better view and location, room also seemed to be in much better condition than the previous. 1 annoyance was that the Mini bar wasnt stocked daily and we had to request for this to be done on return to our room each afternoon, whilst a minor niggle it's not what I expected from a 5 star resort. The Beach at this place is beautiful, we've been DR before and this was our main reason for returning. We enjoyed the buffet restaurant, steakhouse and sports bar for food, the other were nothing to get over excited about and again a little disappointing in my opinion. We hired a pool cabana, this was great and worth the money, we got a bottle of ciroc vodka, ice bucket, water, cans of pop, waitress service all day with fruit platter and lunch from the diamond club menu it was fab! We booked a meal on the beach for our anniversary, again incredible, beautiful setting on the beach, wonderful service and the most amazing steak (probably 32oz!!) Yori at the pool bar was excellent as were most of the other team members. We had a great time at Royalton Punta Cana but heard that other Royaltons are of a much higher standard I comparison. The theatre needs urgent attention as 30% of the seats are broken but shows and entertainment were good fun. Memories splash hotel is great as they have a better pool scene for the kids (although it's not near the beach) another niggle was that the pool at RPC is rather small and does get crowded with Memories guests. Room service was great, the coffee shop was pleasant enough too. We use local tour guide for excursions and had some excellent trips, Saona Island is a must! Would we return...yes absolutely, although keen to visit another Royalton to compare standards.
We visited the Royalton in Cancun and loved it, the food, service and hotel were perfect. This lead me to believe that the name Royalton was a brand linked with these factors, sadly the Royalton in the Dominican does not even come close, most of the staff are lazy, the waiting staff around the pools literally walk pasted you and never offer you a drink! A common site is the staff looking at phones! The food is distinctively average and the drinks selection is poor, at the royalton in Cancun you can select top self spirits here you have a very limited poor selection. The hotel itself is nice the lazy river is particularly a nice addition. Over all I'd say avoid this hotel.
We had a great time
This was our 1st trip as a group and we had an awesome time. The food selection was amazing, we enjoyed the la carte restaurants especially The Hunter Restaurant where the food and service was excellent. We also enjoyed the Gourmet March International buffet, it offered so much selection for breakfast and lunch. Each morning we were warmly greeted by Fernando and Vianny who worked for Travel Smart by the conceige in our building. They were very helpful and answered all our questions. We had a few minor issues with our room and they directed us to the appropriate personnel and ensured that we got our issues dealt with in a timely manner. We enjoyed sunbathing by the sea, the water was warm and clear. Overall we had an enjoyable time!!.
March Trip at Royalton
Hi, We stayed at this hotel about 4 weeks ago now. We’ve stayed at a Royalton before in Montego Bay, Jamaica which is why we decided on this resort for Dominican Republic. Personally we preferred the Jamaica resort, however we still had an amazing time. This was mostly due to the wonderful people here! Special shoutout to Rayling who would make a mimosa every morning for my Mum. Also big shoutout to the lovely ladies who worked at the Coffee Shop, and the boys at Dips Bar and the beach bar (especially Pedro who always had my rum and coke ready haha). The entertainment team were very talented and had great shows- another shoutout to Marleny who was my partner in the cocktail masterclass! If you want to do an excursion we would recommend the Outback tour, we did it on our last trip here about 10 years ago but we loved it even more now. You get to see the real country and learn about their culture, visiting plantations and taking in the beautiful views. We’re missing the great weather in the UK now, but would recommend going to this beautiful country on your next trip...the only thing I would suggest is letting guests make reservations for the restaurants as it didn’t seem fair, and to have more beach beds out on the sand. We hope all of our friends abroad are safe during this time. Thank you, Lauren x
