Excellent!
One of the absolute best hotels I’ve been to in a long time. The surrounding is peaceful and the food was delightful. If you can book a room with an ocean room on the top floor please do. The view is astonishing. The staff was welcoming and very professional.

Go somewhere else!!!!!!!
While I really want to give the hotel zero stars, I will give 2 stars solely because of the Vibe/ Entertainment team, the views from the room, and the fact that the grounds are well kept. Everything else was terrible. Check in: GOOD I arrived at the Resort on June 28th for a wedding. Check in wasn't bad. Although my room wasn't ready, the front desk attendants were really polite and encouraged my husband and I to use to facilities while they worked on our room Food: HORRIBLE This was my 5th time to Jamaica but first and last time at this resort. Food choices were limited and lacked flavor. When I travel I expect to eat authentic food, food the country that I am travelling to is famous for. In Jamaica, I look forward to eating Jerk Chicken, Oxtails, Ackee, Saltfish, fried plantain, Jamaican porridge, curried goat, festivals, fry dumplins. On the first day for lunch there was curry goat and jerk chicken and some other meat at the carving station. Food was average at best but not a lot of options. At dinner I inquired about oxtails and the chef informed me that the resort did not have any and didn't have for the past three weeks. Asked for plantains and festivals and was told there wasn't any. At dinner time I asked again, no oxtail, no plantains, no festivals. At breakfast again, i asked, no ackee, no saltfish. One day out of the 7 days I was there, they had salt mackerel and the hardest fried dumplin I ever ate. When I inquired, the chef told me that Jamaican style breakfast was served everyday. I was terribly disappointed, as I travelled to Jamaica to enjoy their cuisine. If you enjoy beans you will love breakfast.... every day they served beans.....beans and beans, beans and sausage, beans and pork, beans and veggie.... It was depressing going to to the buffet to be greeted by the same food options daily. They advertise having all these restaurants; however, no more than 2 were open a night. At the steakhouse, we watched as the chef used his bare hands to touch the pasta for the alfredo, later was seen sticking his finger in his ear... then mere seconds later using same hand to sprinkle cheese on my husband pasta. When we informed the manager he just said he apologized. The steaks that came was well done although we ordered medium rare and the mashed potatoes were cold. Rooms: Average The rooms don't get cold. Although the thermostat reads 18 degrees/ 65 degrees it truly feels like 70-73. I struggled to sleep. The beds are uncomfortable. The mattress is very soft and left my back hurting. The shower head did not work on the main shower and we struggled to get hot water. Beach: Panhandlers The beach is nice, a bit of weeds but the water was nice and blue. Unfortunately the resort don't own the beach so the locals parade up and down the beach trying to sell mangoes, weed, coconut, clothes. It gets very annoying after a while because they ask again and again. Groundmen. While on the beach I notice the groundmen picking coconut. I got excited and ran to them to ask for one. When I got to them I notice 6 coconut on the ground and ask for one. To which he responded that the coconut belonged to someone else. I went to my husband and told him and we watch another staff came up to tree, climb and pick 2 coconut. My husband walked back to the groundmen and expressed how displeased he was... While there a lady came up to them took 2 of the coconuts, paid them $20 and walked off. Also, there was a guest sitting drinking a coconut and she told me..... the 6 coconut was already sold and that's why he couldn't give me one. Mere minutes later 2 ladies came took the four coconut, hand the groundmen some money and left. My husband was so upset and stated yelling at the groundmen and told them he was going to reported them to their supervisor and they offered him a coconut. This was so distasteful. Mice. This totally did it for me. I was on the resort for a wedding. On the morning of the wedding my husband and sister in law went to drop off some centerpieces. The wedding was held at the Taj Restaurant. While standing there speaking with Paul (wedding department) and observing the workers set up the table we observed 2 mice ran back and forth twice in location. They saw it and was nonchalant about it. This is not only a ceremony location, but also a restaurant so the thought of mice running around in a restaurant is not sanitary at all. I read the bad reviews and wanted to give the resort a chance and boy was I wrong. Don't be a hard head like me, this place is not worth your money.

Wonderful week in paradise
We stayed at RBW in May 2023, and had a wonderful, relaxing family vacation. This being our 3rd Royalton resort we know knew that layouts, restaurants and general appearance of the resort would be similar to those we’ve visited - and we weren’t wrong. This resort holds the same standard we’ve seen in Mexico and DR. Some things that inconvenienced us, but did not ruin our trip - check in wasn’t the smoothest. Our room took a few hours to prepare, our safe was broken (and then fixed) and one evening we were locked out of our room. The resort was at very low capacity the week we stayed (possibly due to the adjoining White Sands being under construction). The abundance of chairs was wonderful - but it also meant that only two restaurants and the buffet were open daily, and the buffet stations were limited. The kids club was also closed due to Reno’s. We did the Dolphin Encounter and Dunns Falls booked through the excursion Centre, and had mixed feelings. Our driver/guide was amazing. Thank you Pete for all the info you shared about your country. It is just over an hour bus ride to Dolphin Cove, and pick up was at 10:30am. Once we got into the park and registered we had less than two hours before we were expected to return to the bus for the Dunns falls part of the trip. It was not even close to enough time. Everyone in our group was scrambling and frustrated at the lack of time. We didn’t get to see half the park, as the dolphin experience was poorly organized and took much of that time. I highly recommend if you’d like to experience Dolphin Cove, to book with a private company and give yourself time. Dunns River Falls should be a separate day/experience. That being said, we had SO much fun at Dunns. Climbing the falls is a must - but for physically fit. My 6 and 20 year olds managed it, but I’m sure less experienced hikers would not. You NEED water shoes, and a waterproof phone case if you plan on taking your own pictures. There was also a guide taking videos/pictures through the climb, and they were $40 at the end to purchase. They were worth it. Back to the resort - it was extremely clean, beds were comfortable, room cleaned daily and fridge restocked. The food we ate was all good. We ate lunch on the beach daily with our Diamond Club package - we had service for food and drinks brought right at our Sun loungers. The jerk chicken at the jerk hut quickly became our daily lunch. The kids park was so fun. You must be 48 inches to use the big slides, but there are plenty of smaller slides for little kids. I do wish there was a shaded swimming area. Security on the beach (3 guards stationed at all times), kept the vendors to a minimum. They are not allowed to approach you at your chairs, but if you’re walking to the water you’re fair game. Everyone was respectful and did not approach our children. Staff here are amazing. Every one of them. Our butters were Leo and Ryan, and both made a point of finding us during the day to see if we needed anything. They also arranged our dinner reservations and were available to answer any questions we had. We would definitely recommend RBW, and will be back in the future.
