    Great family vacation

We were there for our friend’s 40 birthday celebration and there were 20 something of us including kids. We went in low season so had plenty of lounge chairs at pool and beach. Also ate pretty early dinner at around 6pm and had no problem eating without reservations. I enjoyed ocean side for lunch and dinner. They had a freshly cooked fish and squid station. It turns into sit down restaurant at night and has a great shrimp and curry rice dish. The rio and zen was not bad either. Main buffet was not good in my opinion. Would recommend room service for breakfast. Went to spa twice and both deep tissue massage were awesome! Disappointed that steam room and sauna was out of service. Did not have a nice common pool or spa facilities to enjoy after treatment. Lazy river was fun for family.

    Royalton Bavaro Family Vacation

We stayed at the Royalton Bavaro. Felix Felix was our butler and he did an excellent job. He was very informative of daily activities and helped us with anything we asked for. I highly recommend him. Overall our time here was wonderful.

    Great stay!

We stayed for two weeks and had a great holiday. We arrived the day after Hurricane Fiona and the hotel grounds did have visible damage caused by the hurricane. Everyone worked so hard to get the grounds back into a beautiful condition though and they did this very quickly. The resort is pretty big but easy enough to get around. We were always able to find sun loungers around the pools and at the beach so we didn’t need to get up early to try and get one before everyone else. The hotel has areas for you to get beach/pool towels and you don’t need to keep hold of them. If you need more, you just go and get them which is really good. We visited the coffee lounge frequently throughout our stay. Everyone working in the coffee lounge was friendly but Candida, Yariza and Luisa were especially great. They remembered our order every time and always asked how we were doing which was nice :) They make a great latte and iced almond latte! As a vegetarian who doesn’t eat fish, the food options were a little bit limited and did get a bit repetitive but we always managed to find something to eat. We could only pick 1 item from the main room service menu which was a vegan wrap. One of the options is a ham and cheese sandwich, but I was told it wasn’t possible to have one made without ham. My suggestion would be to include more vegetarian options, especially for the room service. Overall, the staff were friendly, hard working and helped to make our stay enjoyable.

Outstanding stay at the Royalton Bavaro Beach

My wife, two sons (9&12) and I just spent 6 days at the Royalton Bavaro. The property was well maintained. They had recovered quickly from a hurricane 3 days prior to our arrival. The only disappointment from the storm was the Oceanside restaurant was closed during the length of our stay. I am a Marriott Titanium Elite member, and we stayed using points. My status granted me a free upgrade to the diamond club! This service is a must, even for the fee. It grants access to a special pool area, restaurant by the beach (lunch lines at the food truck get really long), and butler service. Check in at diamond club was a bit lengthy. After our travels, the kids became antsy. There is a lounge where we could wait with food and beverage, which helped. The bonvoy representative, Ramón came to check us in. He is wonderful and very helpful. He got us an oceanfront suite and butler service. Butler service isn’t something my family is accustomed to, and we likely didn’t take full advantage of this service. However, Domingo was phenomenal. He gave me his WhatsApp contact and was hyper responsive to any of our needs. He also made dinner reservations for the family each night. Overall, the pools are the best part of the property. Best lazy river I have ever seen!! We also spent two days at the Royalton Splash water park and the nearby Royalton Punta Cana. They provide shuttle service, but it is a 10-15 minute walk up the beach. The boys enjoyed the slides. I would recommend this property to families that like to relax, and interact with the staff at the resort. Everyone was genuinely happy to work there, and made our family vacation great!

Nice and relaxing vacation, all because of the staff!!

Had a great time at Royalton Bavaro. We traveled with a family of 4. 2 adults and 2 kids aged 12 and 11. We booked the Diamond club luxury room with swim-out. We are seasoned all inclusive travellers and this was the first time getting something like diamond club. It was a great deal when booking so we decided to try it out and do highly recommend it. When you get to the resort you are actually greeted right away and promptly put on a golf cart shuttle to be taken to diamond club check-in, which is located closer to the beach. (For regular check in, its at the front of resort, furthest from the beach). When you are checking in, you are waiting in the diamond club lounge, where there is a very small buffet of fruits and sweets as well as hot plates of different foods such as wraps, hashbrowns etc. Also premium beverages if you are a drinker are available. Hennesy VSOP, Don Julio, Johnny walker black label, grey goose, just to name a few. If you don't drink there are hot drinks as well such as coffee and cappuccino and espresso and of course, all the pop, fresh juice, chocolate milk are readily available via a server that is there to take your order. Awesome experience to actually be able to start enjoying ourselves while we wait for check-in. We were assigned Steavens as our butler. He made our stay very low maintenance as all of our requests were met promptly. Even if he was not available at the times we needed, he would make sure somebody would take care of our requests. Anything from extra towels, shampoos, body wash, snacks, drinks, and most importantly booking of all the restaurants were done by him. He checked on us daily to make sure we had everything we required. I'd highly recommend requesting Steavens as your butler. Once checkin was complete we were given bracelets which were the actually room key. So much better than a room card. Why can't all resorts do this. By far the best way to do it. We checked into building 18. The rooms are probably the low part of the resort. The upkeep of the rooms needed to be little better as there was some mold in the showers (probably because the don't have vents after hot showers), furniture is a a little damaged, and overall not as clean as it should be, but we didn't chill much in the rooms other than to sleep and shower and use the toilet. The swim out was an awesome addition because the pools do close at 6pm. So if you still wanted to swim past 6pm it's either beach or your private swimsuit. One thing to point out was after 12:00pm our particular swim-out was situated in the shade. I would have preferred the sun during those times, so if you are booking maybe do not book the swim out where we were (Building 18) Diamond club pool had awesome staff there. Shout out to Carlos our main bartender. He made our stay memorable especially for my kids as he took care of all our drink needs and always remembered what our kids wanted and kept the drinks flowing. We basically had bottomless drinks our whole week due to Carlos' hard work and dedication to our family while in the pool. We rarely had to ask for anything, from topping up drinks to moving umbrellas for us for more shade during different times of the day. Shout to Weenzer from the Vibe crew for aways involving the kids in whatever they were doing, from beach volleyball to little games on the beach such as crochet or mini golf, to pool games etc. Towel service was amazing here. They have 2 towel bars and just take as you need, and there was always plenty of stock. Never ran out. I'd take 8 towels at time everyday maybe twice a day and never ran out. They had bins almost at every corner to put your used towels in. Favourite parts of the resort was flow rider and lazy river. As a diamond club member you can use the flow rider from 9-10am and 2-3pm. If non diamond club it is $1 per minute, but you must book a min of 15 mins. Lazy river is not quite a lazy river as you don't really move, you have to move yourself. It's more of a pool that looks like a lazy river, but the highlight is there is a bar in there. Gets quite busy by the bar there during the day. Great experience. Also as diamond club member we were able to go to Royalton Splash and check out their waterpark. You take a shuttle there at 10am or 1pm and you can leave via shuttle at 1:15pm or 5pm. Nothing in between (probably because it was not busy). Splash was a small waterpark. About 6 slides 3 kiddie slides and wave pool. Not bad if you want to change up the scenery for a couple of hours. Restaurants we ate at were, RIO Brazilian steak house, Grazie Italian restaurant and Zen. All the others were closed due to hurricane Fiona. We could have booked Hunters as well, but it was not opened when we wanted to book. All the restaurants are a good experience if you have never experienced. Grazie was our favourite as the pizza was really good. Zen tappenaki experience was cool too. The kids enjoyed it, but don't expect anything really fancy. Rio was great because you can sit in front of beach and eat. Had some great views. The main buffet Gourmet Marche was situated close to the front of the resort, so diamond club member had to walk a little bit to get there as oceanside restaurants which is right next to diamond club was closed for the week that we were there. My assumption is due to the hurricane. Food was different everyday. Each day was themed. Mexican, asian, Dominican etc. Shout out to Ray, Jean Carlo at Gourmet Marche as they were the most attentive servers. They always greeted my family and took care of them while we at either breakfast lunch or dinner. They always remembered what we liked to drink and always made sure my kids were well taken care of. Nightly entertainment was not bad. Each day was different. We particularly enjoyed Circus night. They also had Michael Jackson tribute, Mark Anthony tribute. Kids enjoyed themselves and was not a bad way to end the night. Scoops which serves gelato, sorbets, coffee and sweets was close by so we can enjoy the coffeeshop while watching the shows. If you are not into that, there was the margarita bar next to it for the adult beverages. The beach was great. Diamond club members do have their own section of the beach which have cabanas and lots of huts to hide from the strong sun while out on the beach. Seaweed was cleared everyday by the workers. The water was very rough probably the after math of hurricane. We did get one day of really calm waters and picturesque views of the beach. The rest of the day were rough. Yellow flags were up most days on the beach, so don't swim out too far or the undertow of the waves could take you far out. Vendors on the beach were not pushy at all. They ask once, if you politely decline they were onto the next. Overall this is a great resort. Staff is what keeps this place going as the resort could use a little bit more TLC and upkeep. If they did that this place would be true luxury. One our most memorable stays at an all inclusive.
