Come on! Where are all the good reviews coming from? We are in a pandemic. I checked into the room and what do I see when I open the door- a crumpled up blanket near the TV and a bathroom totally and completely not cleaned up from the previous person complete with gross smudges and toothpaste on the countertops and trash in the basket. When I went back to the desk, the person assured me that the hotel “would never do such a thing on purpose” although I don’t see how this makes it any better. The second room was marginally better, although I still saw gross black hair clump in the shower. Even for Houston, the standard is simply too low. Don’t waste your time at S(tain)esta!
Far beyond our expectations!
As Hurricane Laura pushed us westward, we found an incredible place to hunker down and stay. The front desk staff was so pleasant as well as caring. We did not want for anything during our “Hurrication”. Their total can do spirit and willingness to listen and then take care of our needs and wants. The hotel is beautiful and so inviting. We shall return during a more pleasurable time! Below is a photo of our hosts for our time there— thanks so much!!
Royal Sonesta Houston is an outstanding hotel. its clean and the environment is very serene and friendly. The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel special. Their hospitality services are top notch. I had one of the best hotel experiences and I will definitely come back to these place next time I'm around. 5*****!!
Poor customer service
When I arrived in the middle of the night very tired and the front desk agent, Jermarcus took awhile for him to come to the front desk from the back. I was not told nothing about the amenities and he gives off that he is exhausted. Room is nice but furniture is old.
Do NOT risk your health!!!
I arrived, unpacked and went out to handle the business I was in town for. I returned to my room, went to shower and realized there were two clearly used washcloths hanging from the shower rod. This hotel had supposedly reduced their available rooms due to COVID-19. One would think the reduction in guests would allow a greater focus on the occupied rooms. The explanation I received was that there must have been a misunderstanding with housekeeping and they marked the room clean when it wasn’t. Either this was is a disgusting and dangerous mistake, or a dangerous and disgusting lie. When other properties are ramping up their sanitation, this is unacceptable! Please don’t stay here! Your health is too important to leave it to the lazy staff at this hotel. They moved me to a different room and comped the night. I couldn’t wait to leave. On top of the most glaring strike against this place, the security lock was broken, dust was on everything, there was gunk all over the remote, and the headboard was peeling terribly. This is nowhere near a “luxury” hotel.
