A great place in Maui!
I totally enjoyed my stay at the Royal Lahaina Resort. Everyone was very friendly. Great beach! There's a luau on site. The photo is my room and the spectacular view from it. I would definitely stay here again.
Love staying on Kaanapali Beach, especially on this side. Less crowded, lower key, but walkable to whalers village and restaurants. Hotel is great, staff friendly and accommodating . Areas of shade and sun, beautiful white sandy beach. Dukes is a short walk for breakfast or dinner, On-site restaurant has great food and view. Oceanfront.
Stayed here for a week, the free towels were great and you are right on a pristine beach! Walking distance to whalers village. All staff were extremely friendly. We also enjoyed the luau! We watched the sunsets every night from the high top tables, perfectly nestled between two islands for an amazing view
Went to oahu after staying here wish we stayed. Was quiet, beautiful, friendly......eveything you could ask for. Will come back again! And yea you can see the whales and sunset from your balcony if you get ocean front!
The best views
We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Lahaina for our honeymoon and are very appreciative of the room the hotel provided us with the most amazing direct views of the ocean. It was the ideal scenery we were looking to have on our honeymoon. The side of Ka’anapali beach the hotel is on is sooo much more peaceful than on the south end of black rock. We walked to whalers village for dinner one night and the other end is much more “touristy”. Lots of people, shops, etc and a lot more people on the beach. At the Royal Lahaina you can walk straight out of the hotel right onto the beach and easily find a spot to yourself. But the hotel is still a short walk, drive, or even take the trolley to more shops and food. The room was clean and comfortable. I personally prefer a tad softer mattress but the bed wasn’t uncomfortable by any means. The food at the hotel restaurant was decent. We enjoyed the breakfast meals the most over the lunch and dinner items. We had the inclusive breakfast package and it is definitely worth it. One of the better inclusive breakfast options I have had and plenty of items to choose from. Which is nice when you are staying for a long time cause most hotels only provide one option meal option for inclusive breakfast and it gets old eating the same thing everyday. Have to talk about a few cons and one that is expected to come with traveling is the market/gift shop on the property is over priced. All items we noticed are marked up at least $5 from the ABC stores or regular grocery store. So if you can purchase snacks, drinks, etc elsewhere it’ll save you money. Also, My husband went to the shop from the beach for some snacks and forgot his mask in our stuff and they made him purchase a disposable mask. It was only $2 but we felt that is kind of absurd to charge for a mask when we are paying to stay at the resort. We have never encountered somewhere charging for a mask, even the aquarium provided a disposable mask for free. However the hotel does provide a few water bottle refill stations around the property which saved us some money having to purchase more water bottles and nice to be environmentally conscience. The rooms have a small fridge but unfortunately no microwave. It appeared as if there was even the perfect spot with a plug from a microwave once upon a time. Because of no microwave the next time we visit Maui we would probably stay elsewhere. However, we really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Lahaina and was the perfect first time stay on Maui location for our honeymoon; and the rates really can’t beat all the views, beach access, and charm of the hotel.
