    Affordable Family Fun

Had a wonderful time!!! Kids 18, 26, and 11 something to keep everyone entertained!!! Rooms could use updating, but still served their purpose!! Most tv channels in Spanish, so bring a usb port so u can connect ur smart device. Outlets in the room don’t work well so make sure u have a usb charger, many times the charging block would become dislodged from the outlet!!! Tons of things to do, and the outside beach vendors take APPLE PAY . So negotiate and get your souvenirs without having to leave the property! Cons: some rooms under construction until super late in the evening (well after 9pm) Building new bldg and the dust from construction interferes with the water slide. Not to many after hr places to eat hot food

    Great Week With Friends.

From check in to check out it was an excellent week. Excellent choices of food. The American Country restaurant was our favourite away from the buffet. Lots of pool areas to choose from. The resort is huge so prepare to walk a bit. Lots of little snack bars to choose from if you just want a light lunch. Staff work incredibly hard to keep the resort clean. No issues with our rooms. It is a party resort so things can get a little loud at times. The RIU Party’s are a must to attend. Room fridges are stocked daily plenty of drinks to choose from. There is no room service but a Sports Bar with plenty of snacks and drinks. If you decide to use the beach be prepared to be hounded by vendors. We ventured into town a few times for a couple of night clubs and souvenir shopping. No concerns for safety issues. Streets downtown are patrolled by the military and police. People are genuinely nice and friendly especially if they know you’re gonna fork out a few bucks lol. We did tip a few bucks every day and it is appreciated by the staff. They deserve it and work hard. All in all a great week. I’d go back again.

    Great Stay

This place is great. The room had been recently redone and was in great shape, I would have liked a king size bed but they pushed together the 2 beds and it was okay. The food was good, I would say don't get on the later side of breakfast or lunch the food starts to dwindle. You cannot miss the exercise at the pool with Edna, even if you don't exercise it is so much fun. The nighttime shows at the main stage are also a great time. My transfer back(Destinations) to the airport didn't happed even though I check-in like they told me too and they didn't show up. I took an Uber that cost $90.

Nice property, good staff, and fun resort

There are some mixed reviews so here's my take. We spent six nights here with our two kids (20 and 17) in two different rooms. The property - the property is in great shape. Usually at beachside resorts they're a bit beat up. This place was immaculate. I could not find anything scratched, chipped or dirty in the rooms or anywhere on the property. I commented to my wife how nice everything was, even chairs outside showed no signs of wear or damage. Staff is constantly cleaning everywhere. Drinks - yes, the alcohol is mostly well liquor. This is an all-inclusive with an extremely reasonable price - if you're going to be a liquor snob go to a more expensive resort. Food - meets expectations of an all-inclusive. It's similar to cruise food, some good stuff, some so-so stuff, but it's not getting any Michelin stars. Again, for a reasonably priced all-inclusive, everyone was happy with the food. Plenty of options and always something available. We went into town a couple of nights and got food there too. I will say, Mexico is not like it used to be, everything is quite expensive now. Staff - great staff, from the front-desk to housekeeping. The only downside is the pricing says all inclusive, including tips. But everyone has a tip jar or hand out. The point of an all-inclusive is I don't have to carry a wallet or anything. The service didn't suffer without tipping all the time, but I could definitely see bartenders treat people differently. No tip - you didn't even get a smile and minimum pour. Tip, and you got laughs, heavy pours, etc. Not the end of the world, I would either ask for an extra float of booze or an additional shot. On-site store is well stocked, but pricey as expected in a resort store. It would be nice if they had a kiosk or small store by the pool near the beach so if you need some extra sunscreen or something you don't have to walk all the way across the resort to purchase it. Noise/Party - Yes this is a party resort. But, two of the parties during the week are in the afternoon and only two are at night, shutting down promptly at 11:30. Yes, there are intoxicated people walking around. Not much different than most resorts. It was not overwhelming and unless you were in the building next to the party, you could hear it, but it's not ridiculous. Buildings further from the party were no issue. Outside of the party times, the resort is pretty quiet and peaceful, just people having fun in the pool or having a good time at the swim up bar. You're on vacation people, relax. Enjoy the party or at least the people watching. The staff was very accommodating with room requests - if you have kids or are concerned about the noise, let them know when checking in and I'll bet they do their best to put you in a room far from it. We never had a problem getting pool or beach chairs - perhaps there are times that are busier, but we didn't have any issues. There are several pools with lots of deck space and lots of chairs. A bar is always close by too. Cons - nothing happens fast. We needed some stuff to our room a couple of times and also our safe malfunctioned. It takes 1-2 hours to get anything brought to you. So don't wait until you're going to bed to request an extra blanket or towels. Only food complaint is the burgers in the snack huts by the pools. They're disgusting - frozen patties that are cooked in bulk at set in a warming pan to dry out. People selling stuff on the beach - now this is expected at any beach resort. However, I have never been to a resort that allows them to come into the resorts roped off area. The beach chairs were hardly used, I am guessing because you're constantly bombarded with solicitations for bracelets, hats, blankets, drugs, and more. I expect it in a public area - but put some boundaries in place so I can relax peacefully. In general - I am not a fan of vacations in Mexico and haven't been in 18 years. I prefer the Carribean, but this was a last-minute trip. The service is typically better, with or without tips, pricing is better on most shopping and restaurants, and they genuinely seem to appreciate our business in the Carribean island resorts. When the resorts in the Carribean say tips included, they mean it and most staff won't even accept a tip. If you are heading to Cabo and want a reasonable all inclusive, on the beach and close to town, check out Riu Santa Fe or the other Riu Properties.
