Palace Tropical Bay-beautiful place
The rooms are very nice and clean. Staff are very kind and friendly. Beach is so perfect! Crystal clear and white sand. Some fish and star fish in the water. Drinks are yummy, food is yummy. The buffet is very big and has a ton of variety. The Jerk Hut open for lunch is incredible! Lots for kids to do, if they don’t want to be in the water. Pools are nice. We went on a catamaran cruise to see the sunset, snorkel, and Rick’s Cafe. We booked through Jam West. Our driver, Chunni, was great! Loved him. The water was too rough to snorkel at the main place so they took us to the water right by Rick’s to snorkel. Not much to see there but a couple fish, star fish, small lobster. If you are envisioning a cafe like I was(smaller quiet setting) it most definitely is the opposite. It is a loud, large party where 100s of people are drinking, dancing, eating, smoking, jumping off cliffs…. The complete party pkg if that’s what you want. Not for me though. It was people back to back, side to side, going up and down a small rock staircase. Food was good though. The catamaran was LOUD also, good music but loud. It was pure chaos actually from start to finish. We were just expecting something different as a family cruise. The onsite photographers are good and will seek you out the entire trip if you don’t say No right away. They all take a “no thank you” well which is nice. We don’t say no at first and then seemed to be followed around for more. The photos are very pretty though and you don’t have to buy any if you don’t want to. The locals can be all the beach to sell their goods and take no’s well also, but it’s how they make their living so they are persistent. The ride to and from the airport is long, through small towns, winding roads, wild drivers, and people all over. It was close to 2 hours to get to our resort. Only way to do it though. All in all this resort is great. Felt safe and well taken care of. Although It all seems rushed when staff get you to a table or put beads in your hair, it’s not because they’re rude, it’s because they just want to get as many people in and out to make more tip money. We tipped housekeeping $5 every time she came. We didn’t need her everyday. We tipped $1 here $1 there for drinks. $5 for buffet or Jerk Hut. Drivers we gave a little more because we were thankful they knew what they were doing and we were safe. But many people don’t tip at all, your choice. I think Jamaica is a party everyday, so you may have to seek out some quiet if that’s what you want.

Girls trip
Loved Riu Palace. Everyone that worked there was so friendly and helpful. Everything including the beach was kept very clean. Visited for a girls trip and definitely will be going back. **If you visit be sure to get the jerk chicken that’s made out on the beach for lunch. Delicious!

Stay at the Riu Palace
We cannot say enough about our stay at the Riu Tropical Palace. From the time we step foot on the premises until we left, we were well taken care of. Special thanks you to Deandria at reception, Kamika at the Negril restaurants and the bartenders, Andre, Richard, Andrew and all of these others that made sure we were refreshed. These are the reason that we will be back at your beautiful resort. The app was an easy tool to use. I appreciate that you can make reservations at any time without visiting a desk. We also used it for some minor maintenance issues in our room. They issues were addressed very quickly.

Everything was perfect
We had the pleasure of staying at the Riu Palace Negril from April 5 to 12, 2025, and we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations — from the exceptional beachfront location and the pristine, safe, and expansive beach, to the outstanding culinary offerings and warm, attentive staff. Our room was spacious, well-appointed, and equipped with every amenity one could need. The overall experience was truly flawless.
