Amazing stay with minor issues
We stayed for 2 weeks and we had a fantastic stay. The staff are so friendly and work so hard. Our room was lovely, which was cleaned daily, and the shower was amazing. The beds were comfortable with fantastic air conditioning. The food is outstanding with so many variety of restaurants. In particular, the Italian for lunch and Chrystal for evening meals. We loved how we didn't need to book and attend as many times we want. The pool is lovely. However, it could do with a second pool nearer to the hotel for quietness. However, we found a space at the beach as we didn't want to get involved with the animation team and their activities. The beach itself is beautiful. However, we noticed in the second week (first week December) there were seaweeds and rubbish in the sea. It annoys me when staff work so hard to keep the area tidy and selfish hotel guests leave behind their rubbish.

Don't book any where else
Well we have been to loads of rui hotels and the riu palace Riviera Maya Was one of the best we have ever been to the hotel. the staff ,cleaners, room cleaner, restaurant, carden, entertainment, Check in , and any other staff members are just the best and so friendly The food in the buffet restaurant is the best I have ever had The themed restaurants are outstanding , my wife and I stayed here for two weeks from 19 /11/23 to the 3/12/23 and this hotel done all they could to make your dreams come true The beach is stunning with waiter's serving your drinks ,the water is safe and warm ,the 4 pools are a good size one is a sports poole , two are split in half and one is a swim up bar we did not use the swim up bar , music around poolside could be a little noisy but never bothered us the weather was hot ,hot , I will definitely recommend this hotel to anybody as is the best and I will definitely return next year

Riu Palace in Riviera Maya is great but Costa Rica Riu palace is much better
Rooms perfect, service perfect, food— for breakfast and lunch fantastic. Dinner very limited selections. The dinner choices were ok, but not compared to CR. This property is lacking - early morning in workout room they have no towels. At the pool in CR they just give you the towels you need. At Riviera Maya, they act like you are gonna take the towels home or something- hold on to the darn towel card.. just weird. Beach and pools great and activities great but not as good as Costa Rica.

Five star luxury from Riu all the way.
Absolutely a five-class luxury hotel. It was a wonderful place to stay. The staff were superb, and the rooms and bed were lovely. The entertainers were great fun, and the food was incredible with our favourite being the Japanese restaurant. Rui has customers for life, and we will return next year.

Daughters wedding
Unfortunately this hotel couldn’t accommodate my daughter’s wedding. Between The Riu and Sunwing all deposits had to be in before they would let us know if they could hold the wedding. We ended up having it offsite at a tremendous cost. Aside from this disappointment the Riu hotel was a fantastic place to stay and not one of our guests had anything bad to say.
