    Girls trip of 7

    We were a group of 7 women ages 35-60 .. Excellent staff everywhere in the hotel . They go above and beyond. Zero complaints from anyone in our group. There was a tropical storm that came thru during our trip . They worked non stop to keep guests happy and the hotel dry! Food - buffet has a large variety of food and is open for breakfast lunch and dinner . There are 5 specialty restaurants Italian , French, Mexican, Japanese and steakhouse . We only tried the Italian and the steakhouse since they aren’t all open every day . There Are 3 snack areas -the lounge which has snacks and is open 24 hrs. Cappuccino which is by the lobby and outside near the pop is another snack bar also with limited hours . Your best bet is to download the riu app there you can see the hours and even menus for the specialty restaurants . Entertainment - nightly they have shows at 930pm which were really entertaining . I saw during the day they had bingo as well as some outdoor fitness activities . There is a gym and a spa and I highly recommend getting a massage even if it’s the cheapest option (around $61) . That really made my day. My only regret is staying so little time here , we had been to riu Caribe in Cancun previously and also enjoyed our stay there .

    Excellent service

    One of the best hotels we've stayed at. Excellent service and great hospitality. Every guest can feel valued and important. Lots of attention for everyone. Food: Excellent variety of high quality food for any taste. Everyday different menu from chef ‍ (7 different days). No any food smell in the buffet area. Safety due to COVID: - sanitizers at the entrance to the hotel, temperature checks every time you enter main entrance. - sanitizers before entering restaurant; temperature check; every time you enter buffet area you are provided with sanitizers, masks are mandatory Excellent service on the beach. Waiter constantly checking wether you need water or anything else. Beach was clean and nice. Every morning they clean beach from seaweed and flatten the sand. The only negative would be lots of sellers on the beach that sell not only souvenirs but also illegal stuff.

    Quick getaway

    Quick getaway for a friends birthday. I’ll just list the important info -Airport in Cancun was a breeze, they do have a thermal scanner. -Took Amstar to the hotel, I thought we booked private but it was shared with a couple but we were dropped off first so not a big deal. Hotel is about 40 minutes away from airport - check in went smoothly. My friend got upgraded to a suite for her birthday. Suites are a little bigger -we had ocean view and it was more of a pool view with ocean far far behind it. So if you are looking for ocean front or real ocean view, this isn’t it lol. We stayed in building closest to the pool in room 1043. -Drink Service at the pool was amazing. Victor was so awesome. He remembered my drink orders, brought drinks when he saw they were low and was just a pleasure -pool games were entertaining and I loved the workouts offered at 10am with Luis. -Hotel was never crowded, no long lines, no waiting, no fighting over beach chairs -Steakhouse was good, even bad lobster tails and shrimp -Asian Fusion was just ok -Buffet for dinner was surprisingly good -Beach was pretty with no seaweed and the water was warm -All staff wore masks, most guests wore masks in buffet while getting food -Rooms were nice and cleaned daily. -Shows were decent. We had the most fun at karaoke. -There was no club or clubs really close by so if you want party nightlife this isn’t your spot.

    Wonderful Birthday during Covid

    I came here for a week for my 28th birthday in July 2020. It was so nice to get away during Covid, feel “normal” and celebrate. The hotel is gorgeous and the grounds are lovely. The room was pretty nice with a king bed and seating area. I found the bed to be soooo uncomfortable but I’m so picky. Housekeeping was great everyday. The staff here is super friendly and helpful! Restaurants were better than other All Inclusive’s I have visited, I enjoyed the buffet the most. Always plenty of options. The beach was great, I am a beach person! I enjoyed sitting on the loungers everyday enjoying the view. The beach drink service was very prompt!

    Very good hotel for people on a budget. Excellent service.

    We stayed in late August 2020, 2 couples with kids ages 7-11 for a week. Because of Corona restrictions, the hotel was at 30% capacity - which we loved. There were times in the morning when we had the main pools to ourselves! Overall, the hotel is good, clean, and renovated. Noisy airconditioning in the rooms and an awkward bathtub in the middle of the room. Due to COVID-19 also, no in-room mini-bar alcohol. Just basic shampoo in the shower, and nothing else. The rooms are cleaned every day. Food at the buffet is fantastic, anything you can imagine is there. A la carte dinners are not so great, but we have high standards. The entertainment was fine. Some adult activities during the day, like darts, ping-pong, pool volleyball, and fitness classes. Some art and crafts classes for younger kids. A different show every night at 21. The beach is good - amazing sea water color! Not for snorkeling though, there's nothing to see. Some water equipment is available for free, like kayaks and snorkeling equipment. Face masks are required when at the buffet, at the lobby when talking to staff, or at the bar requesting drinks. Otherwise, guests don't wear masks. The staff is wearing masks at all times. Overall, the service was beyond fantastic. All the requests were handled quickly and gracefully. Note to the hotel management: The room doors are very tough to open/close. You have to push really hard. It was especially challenging for the kids. Door stoppers are necessary (we stayed at the connecting rooms) - and were provided to us upon request, but looked like wood-chips. Very slippery floors!! Especially when it rains, the floors get flooded in some places and it's challenging to walk in the hallways or use the stairs. Noisy airconditioning in the rooms - when it starts its cycle. Can't sleep through it. We had to cool the room in the evening and use fans at night. Fans also make noise! But much less than the air conditioners. The "do not disturb" doorknob tags - adjust them somehow so they actually stay on the door handle. They tend to fall every time you use the handle. Consider creating a smart scannable hotel wristband. Useful to open a room door or getting a towel or other things. Those plastic cards are so inconvenient. Thank you so much! We would definitely recommend this hotel to families and people who want a good clean stay, pretty decent food, and great service. Don't expect luxury, though.
