    Three star hotel

    You can decide on your own if this looks great to you. The food is horrible. Absolutely a joke. Drinks are ok absolut and Jack. But I hope you’re not hungry late at night. Staff at ten plus is very unkind. I was shocked. Good view but eat outside. Trust me. I’m here now. They messed my room up twice.

    Great food pool time fabulous drinks fabulous Rooms just average no liquor in rooms till later in the vacation But nice view good restaurants excursions were ok road work slowed the trip a little but still great time I can see myself going back to riu in the future

    Stay away from this hotel!!

    This is the worst hotel I've stayed at in Cancun and Mexico in general. It needs desperate updating in lamps, furniture, shower heads, light fixtures as well as water damage paint repairs. Besides I could go on and on about the style and décor, which is TACKY and outdated as can be. I paid $300 dlls a night for the deluxe villas, thus expected good quality and a bit of taste, but not at all, just don't offer deluxe villas since there is nothing deluxe about your hotel. In addition to this, there is no point in having many restaurants when they are only open for 3hours a day. There needs to be at least one restaurant open the whole day, given that guests usually go to Xcaret etc in the morning and come back hungry but must wait until restaurants are open, and DO NOT tell me the sports bar is open 24/7 because to eat cold hotdogs I can go to the Oxxo instead. One day there was a line of people waiting, myself included, for the one restaurant open at that time to open its doors. Restaurant Venezia's food was horrible. Kudos to the Mexican restaurant though and its staff. Besides there is a restroom issue. There is only ONE restroom in the entire hotel near the lobby, but very far away from the pools, which leads to the pool with bar being a pee infested pool. When you are in the pools or beach you get hungry and the restaurant issue appears again with having to catch the grill area open or one of the big restaurants open if not hotdogs from the sports bar must suffice. I found it ironic how you mention in your website that you do not allow spring breakers, but those are the crowds you attract because they don't care about good food or anything but getting drunk and passing out and eating hotdogs. The nights at this hotel were nights of smelling weed all around. Y'all took COVID as an excuse to be greedy and ran with it all the way. Room service is not offered anymore, which is still included on your website, but buffet where several people congregate and grab food IS covid friendly right? You do realize that no contact food delivery=room service is more coherent in regards to covid right? Bottles of alcohol used to be offered in the deluxe villas, but not anymore due to covid huh? why not giving 1 closed bottle instead. I mean y'all are offering less services in the name of covid but charging full price. When I did voice these concerns to front desk, they told me all rooms were the same and there was nothing they could do until one front desk clerk overheard me and gave us a room with nothing broken. My friend's room got flooded due to pipe leaking from either shower or jetted tub who knows, and she reported it and came back hours later to it still being flooded. We both had to walk all the way to the front desk almost every day to get a new key to the room because the keys stopped working every day. On top of all services, infrastructure, technical, and design issues, your customer service needs to improve too.

    Everyone at Riu was professional,friendly, and the best.I will definitely visit again. The beach access and the availability for service was unparalleled. Everyone that provided service is unforgettable.

    Cancun 2021

    From check in to check out the Riu Palace Peninsula was on point. Greeted as soon as we were dropped off and pointed in the right direction to make check in super easy. The resort was super clean and the staff was friendly. Our room was nice and cozy with a beautiful view of the ocean. The food was very delicious and drinks were top notch.
